Advent, which begins on Advent Sunday (3rd December this year) and not the 1st of December, and is the period of the Church's year in which we prepare for the coming of Christ at Christmas as the babe of Bethlehem. Like its big sister Lent, it is a period marked by prayer, repentance (saying sorry to God), and reflection. Our Service of Carols and Readings for Advent at 5.30pm on Sunday 3rd December at St Nicholas' Church offers us the opportunity to stop in the busy rush of Christmas preparations, and listen to the words of those who prepared for way for Christ's birth. The music and carols that have been selected reflect this theme of preparation and welcome.

Come and join us as we enter into the season of Advent, and take a moment to stop and reflect as we prepare to enter into the greatest story ever told.
