Verdier revolutionized her art by abandoning easel painting and creating a unique vertical painting technique where gravity plays a central role. In 2006, she even designed monumental brushes that extend her body, allowing her to paint her works directly on the floor.

Manolo Valdés comments on the juxtaposition between the static faces of his sculptures and their dynamic headdresses, stating, “I must admit that I adore the pronounced tension that is established between the two parts; it’s as if they were two entirely different sculptures. Yayoi Kusama’s fascination with pumpkins began in her childhood in pre-war Japan when her family owned a plant nursery specializing in kabocha squash (Japanese pumpkin). Her early drawings of pumpkins evolved into a lifelong obsession.  Reflecting on her attraction to them, she once expressed, “I was enchanted by their charming and winsome form. What appealed to me most was the pumpkin’s generous unpretentiousness.”
