Beerblefish Brewing is the brainchild of James Atherton, a software developer and keen home brewer who got good at it and wants to share his delicious beers with the rest of the world. James' aim is to give people a craft beer option that stays true to traditional methods, but breaks away from the traditional bitters, ales and stouts. Please like our page to keep up to date with our news and learn when we'll be launching our first beer!
It's Sunday - time for a relaxing afternoon with a boardgame, a pint or two and.... PIZZA! You can order from our lovely friends at and get free delivery to our taproom. Perfect for a lazy summer day!
Are we dog friendly? Oh yes we are - just chat to Terence the Terrier about that. (And look at that gorgeous little face!)
No giving him treats though, he's diabetic - that's why we'll always ask before feeding your dog, or just point you in the direction of our puppy snacks!
We're having an extra long brew day today, so we won't be able to open until we're done - we'll be with you at 18:30. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we have to put the safety of our staff and customers first.
It's the first Sunday of the month, so it's time for Sip Sip Knit, our monthly crafternoon! Bring a project to work on while you chat with like-minded folks over a pint or two. "Craft" is liberally interpreted, so bring whatever you fancy doing - knitting, sewing, crochet, paper crafts, painting...
You know we love Hitchhiker's Guide at Beerblefish, so it would be rude not to share our enthusiasm with all you froods this Towel Day! 20% off your first pint if you bring a towel with you to the taproom. No sharing of towels please, it's revolting.
These here are schijven (pronounced a bit like skivin'), and they're the discs we use to play sjoelen (Dutch shuffleboard) in our taproom. Unfortunately, some of our schijven are, in fact, skivin', and five have gone missing in the last week, along with another four that had previously disappeared. Normally we find escapees under the piano, but not this time.
So, if you happen to see the skivin' schijven anywhere, whether inside or outside the taproom, we and would be grateful if you would repatriate them so that everyone can enjoy playing sjoelen.
We're super proud of the team's efforts at the Sjoelen World Cup in Bischheim, France last week. They even found a local Black Horse hostelry!
Sjoelen (Dutch shuffleboard) has its UK headquarters in our taproom - come down any time we're open to give it a go and, if you're lucky you might get some expert tuition from our international players!
We're looking forward to seeing you all for the Blackhorse Beer Mile party today, alongside ! A little reminder that we open at *1pm* on Sundays, so time your mile accordingly!
If you're around Winchmore Hill today, get yourself to and for their Dragon Deuce beer festival, featuring our beers, including our brand new collab with The Little Green Dragon, "Summer of Dragon" - which you can see LGD's Rich proudly pouring in his cask room here!
Tomorrow is the first Sunday of the Month, so it's time for Sip Sip Knit, our monthly crafternoon. This time, will be bringing her yarn winder and swift, so if you have any yarn you need winding, bring it along. As always, all manner of crafts are welcome!
We're thrilled to welcome Stephen to the team on a work experience placement from . Stephen has been on their supported internship scheme and is using his placement to hone his skills. It's great that he's joined us on National Supported Internship Day!
Here are our opening hours over the Easter weekend! Mostly we're open as usual, but we'll be opening a couple of hours earlier than normal on Friday - at 3pm - and closing a couple of hours earlier on Sunday - at 7pm. And a little reminder that we won't be open on Monday, even though it's a bank holiday, so our team can also have a break.
We loved having the crew over to play yesterday, creating our new collab brew!
We're thrilled that Big Red Bus, our collab brewed with last year, was 2023's number 1 mild in Germany! Congratulations to the Ale-mania team!
🇩🇪
We have a mystery worthy of Poirot in our taproom! The team has found a jigsaw piece 🧩 on the floor. The curious thing? It's not from one of our excellent selection of puzzles! Are you missing the final piece of your jigsaw? Do you have any clues 🔍 on where might have come from? Send us a pic of the rest of the puzzle if it's yours (we don't just give out jigsaw pieces w***y nilly, you know).
We were thrilled to welcome the beautifully goth to the taproom yesterday in honour of their youngest member's 18th. Happy Birthday 🥳
It's the first Sunday of the month, spring is springing and we're in the mood for some crafting. Sip Sip Knit, our monthly crafternoon, is this afternoon from 2 - bring your current project to work on over a few drinks and a chat with fellow crafters. Oh, and we define craft quite liberally - knitting, sewing, paper craft, crochet, painting (pictures, gaming miniatures...). We'd probably draw the line at welding, but whatever, really....
We're thrilled with our Gold Recycling Standard certificate for 2023 from ! In addition to the 82% of our regular waste that went to recycling last year, we also sent all of our spent grain and hops to make biofuel, and because we stock , we're able to compost all our crisp packets too.
It's very difficult for small breweries to be sustainable, but we do our best and we have lots of small wins that mean we're constantly finding new ways to further shrink our environmental impact.
It's Games Night tonight, but one Werewolf has turned up early for DnD! The lovely Rich from Camden's is in the house for a transatlantic style collab.
Our Michaela's having the time of her life making these old barrels s***k and span! Sadly, they aren't in good enough condition for beer anymore, but we will have some great new outdoor tables ready for the Spring!
It's all going on at ours this afternoon! Painting, knitting, wargaming, board games... All perfect partners for a few pints!!
We all loved a good exchange visit at school, right? Learning the language and culture (and definitely not the best bars and beer styles) of our European neighbours, those were the days. Well following on from our Glenn's visit to Germany last year, we're pleased to welcome Jan and Fritz from to Beerblefish HQ today for the second leg of the exchange, and they're brewing up a Kölsch with Michaela and the team!
It's the first Sunday of the month and indeed the year, so let's get 2024 crafting! Bring a project and have a pint and a chat while we work at our monthly crafternoon. Starts at 2pm today - we've got sock knitting, shawl crocheting and wargaming figurine painting definitely going on - what project will you bring?
Fancy going out on New Year's Eve, but not "out out"? We've got you covered. No gimmicks, no entry fees, no need to book, just beer, tunes and our usual excellent array of games. Open until 00:30.
We're still on our festive break today, see you all tomorrow!
Little reminder that we're open until 8pm tonight - perfect for a Christmas Eve tipple or to grab those last minute beer and gin gifts!
Nearly there folks! Here are our opening hours for Christmas and New Year. 🎄
If you happen to be in tonight, you can try not just one, but TWO of our recent collabs at ! There's the Golden Ale we made with and Big Red Bus, our team effort with .
Hi folks - if you're headed over for Games Night tonight, we'll be opening an hour late at 19:00. Really sorry for the short notice, it was unavoidable in the circumstances.
When a new game arrives in the brewery and you just have to try it out straight away!

We were founded in August 2015 and moved into our current premises in Edmonton, North London in April 2016. In 2018, we became a social enterprise and kick-started our mission to help ex-forces personnel to re-skill and re-enter the civilian workforce, and to support children’s charities. We’re not a charity ourselves - our model really only works if everyone’s working towards a profit (and at the end of the day, we also have to eat), but we do want our business to focus on making the world a better place, rather than just on cold, hard cash.
We specialise in brewing heritage beers based on nineteenth century recipes, but we like to keep it fresh by also making modern pale ales and lagers.
