New class🚨 Afro-Caribbean Contemporary with Shea Best✨

Shea’s class is primarily a fusion of Cuban Modern, Horton and Traditional & Contemporary Caribbean dance forms. Each week we will build strength and stamina working on Fortifications, Balances and other centre exercises.

Shea Best is a dancer, choreographer, actor, vocalist and director, hailing from Barbados and currently performing and residing in London, UK. Shea holds an MA in Choreography from Leeds Beckett University and is currently on tour with IRIE! Dance Theatre in a dual role as dancer and Company Rehearsal Director.

We are utterly heartbroken to hear about the loss of Ballet star Michaela Mabinty DePrince. Her talent, artistry and grace encouraged so many young dancers to chase their dreams. Her courage, resilliance and bravery will forever be a huge inspiration to us all. Our thoughts & love go out to all of her family and friends at this hard time. Rest in power.

Burlesque for Beginners ( level 1) : The perfect starting point for those looking to dip their toes into burlesque for the first time.

Handfans & Stockings (Level 2)
Over 4 weeks, you will learn, perfect and polish a choreographed burlesque routine, centred around the use of hand fans (Chinese folding style fans) and stockings. Hand fans add a sense of drama and sass, whilst the stocking peel is an ultimate symbol of sensuality! A perfect pairing.

Tommy has a background in grass roots Jazz, mastering styles from fosse, matt Mattox and Aliey. Tommys Jazz tech training was provided under the guidance of Teresa Kerr (London studios/Ready Steady Go) this disco tech jazz, combined with American styles of cabaret jazz define Tommys unique style as a choreographer and dance trainer.

With a degree and a masters in Dance and having studied with Hip Hop pioneers in the UK and across the pond, she will be sharing her love for sometimes funky, sometimes sassy but always “vibey” movement!
