How to recognise a good quality coffee? Here is one simple tip: The aftertaste!
The aftertaste of coffee, also called "final" is a taste that remains in the mouth after taking a sip of coffee. The aftertaste can be chocolaty, charcoal, spicy, with caramel tips, fruity, smoky, roasted and more.
The aftertaste of a coffee is created by the vapors and gases – organic compounds – produced by the roasted beans. These vapors are released by the residues that remain in the mouth after tasting the coffee.
The longer the aftertaste stays in your mouth the better is the coffee. Come and try ours!

About yesterday!
We baked a Pistacchio Italian sponge cake filled with Namelaka, homemade raspberry syrup and caramelised pistachios. Decorated with Italian fresh cream. 🤪🤪
We are so excited to hear that it was delicious and to get a 5 stars review from our Italian customers (yes we Italians are fussy 😅) it gives that extra thrill! Grazie mille!

Hi guys! Our first post after loooong time! As most of you already know we had to deal with Covid 😫💪 and our kitchen was closed for refurbishment.

Hi guys! Today we baked some Bignè, made with choux pastry filled with fresh cream and topped with dark chocolate. According to some cookbooks this dough was invented in 1540 by a chef called Pantanelli who was Catherine De Medici’s head chef. This pastry is also used for profiteroles, eclairs and can be found on the St Honoré cake. They are delicious 🤪🤪 Available this week.

FREEDOM CAFFE’ is a vegetarian and vegan friendly tearoom at Whitehall Historic House, a unique building, a rare survivor of domestic architecture built before Henry VIII.
Whitehall is one of very few buildings left in the Greater London area that is more than 500 years old. The tearoom was built as an extension in the 17th century at the back of the building and it has access to a beautiful garden for our customers.
Every Thursdays and weekends, we serve freshly made vegetarian and vegan home food along with homemade cakes, . We are well known for our vegan croissants and homemade gnocchi. Our hot chocolate is quite famous among our clients and the younger ones described it as one of the best in the world! 🤗👍
Our respect for the environment guided us in the choice to be vegetarian and to avoid plastic, as much as we can, in order to reduce our CO2 footprint as lower as possible.
