macaroons but make them miso ✨

you’ll need:

2 egg whites
100g desicated coconut
1 tbsp honey
175g caster sugar
2 sachets miso’easy traditional

step 1: preheat oven to 175ºC. add all of the ingredients, apart from the miso, into a saucepan and stir over a medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture comes together

step 2: lower the heat and continue stiring until the mixture has dried out and holds together. stir through the miso until golden

step 3: use a spoon to evenly scoop out 6 macaroons onto a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper. bake for 20-25 minutes, covering with foil if they brown too quickly

step 4: leave to cool completely before eating and top with a sprinkle of salt

for the first sauce, mix together:

2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp maple syrup
1/4 tsp sesame oil

for the second sauce, mix together:

2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp fresh ginger

Our NEW prawn gyoza have hit the shelves! 🥟 We've made the gyoza bigger and added even more prawn to the recipe. Admirers of the old version might notice that there are two less gyoza in the bag... but fear not! The new bigger dumplings mean the new bag is actually 30g heavier then the old one 😅

1 carton itsu chicken ramen brilliant'broth
2 servings fresh/ straight-to-wok udon noodles
1 red pepper
1 leek
1/2 tsp grated ginger
1 handful edamame beans [out of their pods!]
2 handfuls green peas
1 bunch corriander
1 handful edamame beans
1 handful spinach
soy sauce
sesame oil
neutral oil
salt

big’bao is on a roll! You might have seen the newest edition to our bao family in the fridges & , and from today you can find it at 700+ stores nationwide!

The original chicken big’bao was dreamt up in the middle of a lockdown when we were all looking to liven up our lunches. 18 months & 100’s of recipes later we hit the shelves. Just pop it in the microwave and watch the box fill with steam, 90 seconds later you have a perfect soft fluffy bao. This is a UK first and a project we will never forget!

Meet Ellie and her fantastic [all female] technical team at itsu [grocery] standing by one of our favourite products they helped create!

Ellie knows that women in the workplace have an important role in inspiring others to develop their confidence and self-belief.

Which is why Ellie, since joining itsu [grocery], started a growth & development working group and as part of this, relaunched personal development plans across the business, whilst holding regular lunch & learn sessions. This has led Ellie to arrange for 15 women at itsu to attend a conference, supporting them in developing more courage and confidence to take into their work.

This is a post to say that wherever we are in our careers, it’s our small steps every day that will eventually lead to

This is our team member Olga. She’s 18 years old and arrived at itsu at 6.30am this morning.

She works around a degree in Forensic Psychology, alongside two other jobs caring and babysitting for friends and family members. She takes this care into her work at itsu, everyday.

Without dedicated people like Olga, you wouldn’t be able to receive the beautiful ‘works of art’ that you pick-up at our stores everyday.

We may still coming to terms with Jurgen leaving the tent last week 😢 but we are SO READY for the Bake Off final tonight!! 🕺 Annnnnnnnnnd we've teamed up with to bring you this handshake-worthy recipe ☝️ Vegan Peanut Butter and Miso Cookies 🍪 Why not whip up a batch to enjoy tonight?

100g Vegan butter
200g Caster Sugar
250g ManiLife smooth peanut butter
170g Self Raising White Flour
2 sachets itsu miso easy traditional
3 tbsp plant milk
100g Vegan chocolate chips or chunks

Preheat the oven to 180C
Mix the vegan butter, sugar, peanut butter, and miso together a large bowl.
Sieve the flour into the bowl and beat into a dough. We used our hands.
Add the vegan chocolate chips & plant milk then and mix again.
Using your hands, roll the dough into roughly 18 balls and place them onto baking trays lined with baking parchment. Make sure you leave some room around them as they will spread out when baking.
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
