What an AMAZING first week at Club Thrive!!! To get this started we had to hope and we had to believe change was possible.
We had to believe we were able to create something that no one else has created before
We had to take a risk with moving our existing membership to see what was possible
We hit bumps and challenge but we had to hope and believe it was still the right decision
We had to hope and believe that even if things didn’t quite go as we imagined it would still be the best, the right, the most energising possibility for our future

Why does it feel so terrifying to be ourselves?
As women I mean. To accept who we are and be who we want to be
Especially when ambitious, driven, balancing all the thoughts in your 🧠
I see you
It feels so radical to just be ‘you’ and as though you might never feel comfortable in your skin
Especially if navigating physical or situational change - children, break up, job loss, personal grief
Today is supposedly Blue Monday, but every day will feel Blue until you decide to change how you think about yourself and your life
Just like diamond engagement rings were driven by a marketing campaign by , Blue Monday is just another phrase to make us think we should feel certain things at certain times of the year
Rather than saying “what do you need to to feel your best alongside the seasons. How do YOU want to feel”?
Change your narrative, get the help, invest in yourself, allow yourself to change
I can’t stress it enough, if you need support you go right to your GP or a therapist to get the help you need - check out the work
Decide you will accept yourself. To understand what ‘I am enough’ means you must stop trying to be someone else
That yes to get what you want you must live as though you are the person who has achieved it
A working actor needs stamina - not working? Build the stamina so you’re ready when you are
A thriving Mum spends time on herself - where can you find 5-10 more minutes to live that truth now?
Someone who does yoga just goes to yoga - the flexibility comes from the choice to go
To appreciate you are ‘enough’ means to create your own vision of success, happiness and fulfilment

The ads for that January health kick have started. I want to give you this one MASSIVE piece of advice, from both the perspective of a coach and someone who battled poor body image and low self esteem for decades
Coming from someone who now loves and appreciates their body, most of the time
Who has committed without obsession to feeling as confident and energised as possible amongst the normal peaks and troughs that come too I’m in the more tired, heavy days
❌ You don’t need a month long juice detox to undo December
❌ You don’t need to cut out entire food groups or foods
❌ You don’t need to spend hours in the gym or do multiple classes/workouts a day
❌ You don’t need to feel bad about your enjoyment of life
❌ You shouldn’t listen to those who put you, your body, your choices down
- i once went out with a guy who suggested I stop swimming because it gave me shoulders. If I’d listened he’d have stopped me doing one of the things I love to do
Instead
✅ Find exercise/movement you enjoy and do as much of it as you can
✅ Reframe all, and I mean all, negative thoughts about your body. For life. Every day.
✅ Strength & resistance train for your bones and to improve muscle density
✅ Say no thanks to food when you’re done, full, satisfied
✅ Prioritise rest, protein, water and reduce your overall alcohol consumption (in life, I’m having more than usual atm, it’s Christmas!)
✅ Allow yourself to make the changes you want, whether it’s a healthier lifestyle or rebuilding strength after a baby
✅ Ditch the scales. Be more conscious of your relationship with food, drink, rest, exercise and yourself instead. Do more of the stuff that makes you feel good and less of the stuff that doesn’t
✅ Diet culture and HAES culture are not to be confused with YOUR wants. You can want to lose fat and it not be diet culture. Likewise you can be unhappy in your body because you feel heavier than you like and not feel like you should be happy in it. Just be conscious of cultural bias and find your own happy place
✅ Make it a lifestyle commitment and thrive personally & professionally for LIFE!

Let’s face it, you just don’t need that kind of guilt inducing marketing in your life
3 powerful perspectives for you today
1. If you want to change your life you get to do that. Make it about a bigger picture shift, not an all or nothing approach. Within that if you want to make massive changes, do it. Same with your body. Do what you want to do but make it fun, enjoyable, focused and intentional
2. We are fed the lie that our lives have to look a certain way to be perfectly healthy. You are different to me. I am different to my friends. We are all different. Choose what makes you thrive. Get curious. Get to know yourself better!
3. Stop trying to be everyone else. The magic is already within YOU. It’s all about YOU. I need you to allow yourself to accept yourself. From here your life will expand magnificently
Waking up with guilt, shame, anxiety about your choices does not have to be how you live
Shift your relationship with yourself and you’ll be less likely to make the choices that bring these thoughts and feelings
Shift your perspective with the world around you, the people you see and the information you consume
Improve your relationship with yourself, anything becomes possible

Working freelance as a fitness coach, Christmas was always a time I looked forward to.
It was the one time of the year I properly took some time out to rest and eat meals at normal times 😂
The pandemic changed how I thought about my life and what was possible
Eating meals at normal times, not rushed and with less stress made me re-evaluate what I wanted to do in the long term with my career
How I wanted to claim back more time for myself.
This time of the year can be mental. Hectic, stressful, overwhelming and pressured
Sad too if experiencing grief. Been there!
But it also can be a time to face up to the simple things we’ve forgotten about.
The freedom to make change. The choices YOU get to make
To decided how you want to thrive
Rather than repeating another cycle of survival
And the fact these two things so often co-exist in the balance of life
This post was meant to be a “here I am ready for Christmas” type of thing. And it is! Here I am. Happy with a tub of chocolate and a coffee.
But it’s also a marker of what has changed. Of how I can deal better with stress. Another year balancing private close family health challenges +!building a consistent income
Of being a mum. Of realising I don’t have the urge to swiftly drink wine tomorrow like I did last year because I was so exhausted, stressed & anxious about the future with a child, in the midst of my own decisions to pivot my career.
We never know what is around the corner but what I have learnt is that, most of the time, better things actually are - especially when you open up that possibility
Whatever you’re feeling right now, if challenged, it WILL pass. This is not your experience of life for forever. Taking the time in this break to identity what is making you feel like you’re surviving. So you can do less of it.
And if you’re in a joyous, happy place - thriving - relish it. Be clear on what has got you here. Keep it.
You are at the centre of all of it! This is about YOU, your skills, your talents, your unique abilities, your decisions and actions that will take you where you want to go in your life
Even if you’re having a hard time, look for the magic. It does exist ✨

Remember you do get to choose the thoughts you have, it just takes a bit of practise and commitment
If you feel yourself sinking into that low mood comparison take a beat, do something to shake off the eugh and remind yourself of all that you’re capable of
Be gentle, kind and compassionate yourself
But also hold yourself to account. It’s on us to really harness the power of our minds. No one else can do that for you ❤️
Hey guys, here. Can confirm I’ve spent the second half of 2023 trying a bit too hard
Too hard to do everything
Too hard to avoid help
Too hard to ignore how hard being a parent can be alongside trying to build a new business
Too hard being too hard on myself
Too hard pushing things to where they’re not meant to be yet
Too hard because it’s what I’ve always known
Too hard because I’m hyper independent & have to remember to be light
And the worst one?
Too hard trying to be a version of myself I’m not in trying to be seen in a certain way
When we talk about identity, stepping into a future version of you is all about making changes as if you’ve already made the changes you crave. But they need to be aligned to you, your needs, your values, your character
Without realising it I’ve been, I think, trying to be a version of myself I think the world wants to see as a coach.
Pushing aside my needs as a Mum. Without meaning to creating things that aren’t quite aligned. Then it starts to feel off. Then we crack because we can’t hold it all together, this exhausting version of us is no longer free
Speaking with a great friend yesterday I was explaining my story. Of divorce, grief, loss of identity in social circles. Realising without meaning too the history of the last 8 years still impacting decisions today
Thankfully as a coach and having been coached I can recognise it but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen!
This year has been barmy. This past 3-4 years has been INSANE hasn’t it?
If you’re feeling all discombobulated you’re not alone. I encourage you to release the frown, let go of the emotions you’re not allowing to flow and go do one thing that shakes off that heaviness
Playful, silly, creative, indulgent. Whatever
Here’s to day by day doing one small thing that is what YOU want to do. How YOU want to dress. What YOU want to do with your time
We cannot control the future. The universe needs you to trust yourself. You need to trust yourself. We all need to trust ourselves. To be ourselves. Because that’s who the world wants to see
Anyone else planning on starting 2024 with a clean slate? Cos I certainly am!!
No one talks about the things that haven’t gone right in a career journey until they’re so far down the line they’re distant memories
So when we see the successes we don’t always hear about the hiccups too
It can be easy to immediately think we’re incapable when things don’t go to plan.
This is where mindset and reactions are crucial for self belief and wellbeing
Here’s what to do when you feel like you’ve messed up an opportunity you cared about
✨Allow the feelings to exist. Do whatever you need to do, allow the emotions to flow it’s ok. Once they’ve flowed past you’ll feel relief for them going
✨See if you’ve put unnecessary pressure on yourself - next time where can you be more yourself in the situation?
✨Find proof of why you are NOT incompetent and ARE in fact just a human who had a bad day. Proof of work, experiences, other responsibilities, achievements etc.
✨Share with a friend/family/community who understands. There are so many who can relate and help you feel less of a failure in that moment!
✨Zoom out and see that experience in the bigger picture of your life - it is a SPECK in the ocean of everything else. We just focus on the things that go wrong because we care. There will be more moments to come!
✨What will you do to prove your inner critic wrong?
✨Anything that goes wrong takes you closer towards where you’re meant to be when you respond with positive action. Do have now have an opportunity you didn’t see before?
As an actor & a coach there are pressures that I apply on both areas without even realising it myself. I think we all can when we care!
Today I did what felt like the worst in person monologue performance I reckon I’ve done in about two decades.
I made rookie errors, obvious ones and I actually can’t believe the choices I made with simple things I should have known better about 🫠 Hello inner critic!
That wave of embarrassment came sweeping in after because it felt like a massive regression & it’s been a great year audition & job wise.
Stay strong, be compassionate
Your career is a combination of moments. One icky experience doesn’t define you or strip you of your potential ❤️
One of the things I see so I often with clients is the desire to be right. For there to be a way of doing things that is more accepted than others
In high achieving ambition there is a pressure to get things right because you hold yourself in high esteem
Intelligence + the heart battling it out. Trying to decide what “the gut” says too.
Feeling stressed when you don’t have the solution because you’re meant to know the answers, it’s what school has conditioned you to do maybe what family or society has suggested too
It can create frustration, anger and even a sense of feeling lost in a state of anxiety and tension
This is especially true if you are the creator of your work - self employed, a creative, running your own business
What can happen is you start to not be present in your life. Happens to me too. 2023 has been a year of change and decision making!
I saw a photo of me with my daughter Sienna from last Christmas with my sister yesterday (pic 2) and I panicked a bit. I didn’t remember really enjoying or appreciating those moments as either a mum, individual or sister. The anxiety of trying to control the future was intense.
Because our mind is constantly seeking answers in what to do next when we like to be the best at what we do.
When this happens in coaching we:
✨ Explore the truth in what’s actually going on
✨ Break down the feelings
✨ Feel a release of pressure and a sense of clarity in what is important for you
✨ Explore what the true desires are
✨ Connect back to the thing, activities, actions that bring confidence, energy, joy
✨ Decide what you’d like your next step to be
✨ Focus on the mindset shifts required to take you towards a happier future
✨ Take action towards change
The work in coaching happens outside the sessions too. Your newfound awareness of “YOU” not society, your parents, your friends, social media, deciding where you want to take your life next
