Once upon a time, Little Red Riding Hood set off on a journey to a happy body, but she became hopelessly lost in the internet forest of health information and never made it out. Was she eaten by the corporate food wolves? Immobilised by too many unfulfilled gym memberships? Or spiked on the branch of this-alone-be-the-whole-truth? Weโll never know. Poor Little Red! ๐
Starting your journey to wellness begins with becoming aware of your health and taking action. But with billions of health options available, itโs easy to feel overwhelmed. To diet or not? High reps or low reps? No carbs or some carbs? High intensity or moderate? Stand up, sit down, run screaming from the building? ๐โโ๏ธ

๐ฟMental Health Awareness Week๐ฟ
Stress doesnโt have to be a constant in our lives. This week, Iโm sharing my personal strategies for stress management.
Swipe left to catch a glimpse of the simple yet effective ways we can all manage our daily stressors. From finding joy in movement to sharing household tasks, letโs make room for what truly matters. ๐
๐๐ค "Sleep is not just a luxury, itโs a necessity for optimal health! Lack of sleep can increase your risk of heart disease, raise your blood pressure, and even contribute to premature aging.
๐ Ideally, we should be preparing for sleep shortly after sunset and rising with the sun. While this might not be realistic for everyone, there are many things you can do to create better sleep habits.
- Consider the amount of sleep youโre getting. Both too little (less than six hours) and too much (more than eight hours) can lead to an excess production of cortisol, a stress hormone that can suppress the immune system.
- Between 10pm and 2am, our bodies focus on physical repair, while psyche repair happens between 2am and 6am. The later you go to sleep, the less time you give your body for these important tasks.
- Look at your sleep environment. It should be so dark that you canโt see your hand in front of your face. Any light can diminish the production of melatonin, our primary โsleepโ hormone.
- Keep lights dimmed at night and avoid stimulating activities like watching TV or working on your computer in the evenings. And donโt forget to remove any electrical or cellular appliances near your body while you sleep.
Remember, good sleep is a key ingredient in the recipe for good health! ๐๐ค

๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐: Resistance training for females naturally improves muscle definition & strength without necessarily increasing bulk. Did you know that we lose approximately 3% muscle mass per decade after 30 years, unless we engage in regular resistance training? ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ
Strength training not only improves control and balance (decreasing risk of injury), but it also diminishes:

โข Pain of osteoarthritis & rheumatoid arthritis ๐ฆด

In fact, strength training is superior to cardio because muscle mass optimises one for longevity. The greater your muscle mass, the higher your survivability against all diseases. Most protein reserve is stored in muscle, which is required to survive serious disease. If thereโs very little muscle, premature death may occur because of no amino acid reserves. ๐ก

calls for a hearty and delicious veggie dish! Repurposing this oldie but goodieโ my nutrient-packed Veggie Bake! It's perfect for a mid-week refuel, and even picky eaters might love it with the creamy feta and cheese!
VEGGIE BAKE (serves 3-4)
350g Cauliflower, steamed & chopped
3-4 Baby marrows, diced
5-6 Med mushrooms, chopped
3-5 Med spring onions or 1-2 leeks, chopped
250ml Crรจme fraiche
2 Rounds feta cheese
60-80g Hard cheese, grated finely
Salt and pepper to taste
Cayenne pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Mix all, except hard cheese, & place in baking dish. Add grated cheese on top, to form crust. Bake for 45 min or until crispy & light brown.
