It will also help those who need support coming out of addiction.
Longer term goal is to qualify as a Psychotherapist so there is a whole load of skills to learn between now and then. π
It's so much easier to just not do it.

I really feel this π€
Do you ever feel like you still don't quite understand yourself.

Sometimes it's so hard to see the light when the adrenaline wears off.

Being more mindful, calm, and relaxed will involve slowing down and spending some quiet time with you.
Meditating can be a foreign and slightly difficult practice.
Especially for those who are constantly rushed, overthinking, and under pressure, but itβs a great tool to use to become more at peace.
In this post, weβll look at some of the basics of meditation and how you can use it for your own greater good and achieve an undisputable state of calmness.
What is Meditation?
In short, meditation refers to a practice that involves a neutral state of mind that does not latch onto any thoughts or emotions, but rather observes them.
It is a technique, originating from India that is used to enhance self-awareness, mental well-being, calmness, and serenity by reducing overthinking, anxiety, and stress.
Though it may seem complex at first, meditation, at its very essence, is really simple, so try some of these tips in 5 ways to clear the mind alongside.

Addiction is a very strong word and only you know if you have a problem or not. Making changes to habits can be very hard.
Firstly admitting it to yourself, then admitting it to other people.
Especially hard if it is something you like to keep secret.
Surely not everything has to mean it such a serious issue that it needs addressing with outside help.
It might just be something that would make you happier if you did less of it.

Ok so I've changed direction towards something I know nothing about, yet I know it inside out π€
Still to get qualified on paper π§βπ but I have a lifetime of lived experience and knowledge about it π±
Recovery coaching for addiction and alcoholism is my story. Prison is also part of the journey π³
Devastating to my self esteem but it's the next right step π if I want to be genuine to myself and others βοΈ
There was nothing social at all about my drinking and drug taking towards the end π₯΄
I got absolutely smashed, more than once on just about everything π€―
Maybe I wanted to "escape" π
Or
Maybe I just liked the idea of total disconnection and the euphoria π
What's the difference?
NOTHING! when it comes to the consequences.
By then it's free-fall πΉπ₯πΏ
are an integral part of my recovery because they work.
In all honesty, there are many parts that I struggle with.
I'm not religious at all, so a higher power is a sticking point for me.
Science and evolution leave little room for superstition or faith.
I am more in tune with Brian Cox. The universe fascinates me π
principles also work for me, but that's just me β―οΈ
The power of the fellowships and recovery is unrivalled, so it's about the similarities, not the differences.
Sober and focused I'm a COMPLETELY different guy to who I am in 'the madness'π―.
Can really see the beauty and opportunities in life π±
This is the kind of focus I'm starting to feel now, as things piece back together slowly.

5 tips for your mental wellbeing during lockdown.
We read it, we hear it, damn! We even already know it.
But are you taking these steps to beat the blues?
Managing life during lockdown is alien to all of us.
On a good day it can be "Right! I'm going to learn, improve and use the time as productivity as possible"
Other times it can be like, "what's the point man" the world is actually not a great place right now.
Where am I supposed to fit in to it, and what comes first?
Fear, doubt and anxiety rule again, making us feel like we are not good enough and why should I bother...?
Throw some self destructive behaviour in to the mix and we are not only up against the unknown challenge of lockdown.
We are also whisking up our mind and thinking process into a rabbit hole of stress.
There is a way out and there is a way forward.
These fundamentals are proven to be the cornerstones of what makes us feel on top again.
Don't give in to negativity mate. Be kind to yourself π
8 Top tips to overcome anxiety.
So what exactly is it and how do we overcome it?
Imagine this! You are sitting at home, alone looking at your phone wondering why nobody is calling you.
That person that said they were your friend hasn't called to chat, but surely a 'friend' would call you to check in and see you are alright?
So after a few swipes and deadend chats on Tinder, you tap on Facebook to get some kind of interaction.
Still lonely head full of fear, anxiety and doubt about everything.
What's the most logical thing to do with nothing at all happening in a day that feels like it is going to last 10 years?
A l c o h o l, d r u g s, p o r n, g a m b l i n g. Anything to feel something.
Connection is one of the cornerstones of what we need as human beings to be Ok.
And to have reassurance that we are be part of a normal society and be of use to others.

Google it, go to images and see what it is if you haven't seen it before.
Moral of the story! Pick up the phone and call someone that you know would appreciate your call.
Your 'freind' may be thinking the exact same thing.
You may be helping them more than you think. via .app
Hearing the word "eat your fruit and veg" can really sound like white noise at the moment.
But if anything is going to plant a seed to buy some fresh food next time you are in the supermarket, let it be this.
If you need to to stop drinking or taking drugs then the best thing you can do for your body is give it everything it needs to feel alive again.
Three days of lots of water, fresh food and if you can get out for a jog do it, you will feel like a different person.
Getting out of that space going over and over distressing memories in you head is torture.
We can't answer our own questions sometimes.
If we could then we wouldn't be going over and over them 25 years later.
