Pronounced with a long /o/ sound (similar to how you would say frog). In conversation you can say “tôi no rồi” to tell your companion that your belly is full of goodness. Or, if you want to be dramatic- “no quá!!!” is a way to say “I am TOO full”. Cookie points for any of you who can use this word at the end of your meal 😋

Everyone who has a place at the table, has their own bowl where meats, veggies and sauces are piled high on top of a mound of white rice. “chén” is the southern vietnamese name while “bát” is the northern version 🍚
