How long have you spent shrinking yourself?
Unable to grow into yourself because you’ve been so afraid of taking up space?
I used to pour so much focus into staying small, literally in my body but also everywhere else in life, fitting in, not daring to show people my quirks and I was the most disconnected I’d ever been.
When our attention is focused around shrinking, we don’t have the energy to explore who we are beneath what the world told us to be.
The more we focus on shrinking the more we dull our intuition and inner trust.
The more we dull our inner trust, the more disconnected we are from ourselves.
Start to welcome back your inner trust, your inner guidance by connecting to the world around you.
Ask yourself what it would look like you grow into yourself, what does that version of you need right now? 🌱
Distance from self is so often felt
When a heavy mindset is present
Where there is gentle love
There is less loneliness
When you forgive yourself for whatever lays heavy on your shoulders
You welcome space for new energy
Feel your feelings.
Words that are thrown around a lot without much explanation.
To create space for feelings can seem like an impossible task, especially if you’re already quite detached from yourself, so where do we go from here? If the emotions are big but have no where to go?
If you feel stuck in a loop of pain?
If you feel overwhelmed and lost?
You slow down enough to notice what’s happening - away from rushing through daily life.
You invite curiosity and start to explore sensations in your body - tight shoulders, swirling in your tummy, clenched jaw.
And instead of trying to intellectualise these sensations, you breathe into them, welcome them instead of pushing them away.
The journey starts with acknowledgment
It starts with simple curiosity surrounding what your body is telling you.
It starts with you 🫶🏻🌱
Your body is not an going project that needs to be fixed 🫶🏻
I just hope that you can find a little joy today and a small step towards returning to yourself 🫶🏻🌼
Don’t forget yourself.
We lose touch through rushing, through the hustle and bustle, through dieting, through forcing.
The sacred connection to ourself can wear thin after ignoring ourselves for so long.

Because it’s easier to face away from joy, to busy yourself with anger and heaviness because by doing so we feel as if we’re protecting ourselves from further pain.
It’s not a quick fix, but taking the time to observe the mundane, appreciate the glimmers of magic and find little moments where you care for yourself within each day starts to rewire the brain.

I’ve been thinking about my own eating disorder recovery recently and how much I had to surrender to the process.
The more I fought, the deeper I fell.
As soon as I moved into an existence of surrender I was able to navigate recovery a little easier (it was not EASY by any means but that slight shift did help).

‘The comfort you seek is within you’
I don’t really know what that means, not fully.
I’ve spent a lot of time looking for comfort, for safety, just to feel at peace.
I think a lot of the time we look for these things outside of ourselves.
Through the reassurance and validation from others, through food, through buying new things, through a number of coping strategies.
All with the hope of feeling something.
Because it’s easier to feel something through the external, it’s easier to hold on to something when it’s right there in front of you.
The hard part is learning how slow down enough to listen, to start to understand how you can gift yourself all of the things you look for in others. To create your own safety and comfort,.
To learn how to trust yourself and your instincts.
Today, even if it’s just for a moment, welcome whatever discomfort is residing in you instead of numbing out with the external.
Ask what it may need from you.
Observe the feelings, observe the sensations, welcome a little more space.

Picture this -
You spend the month of December pouring love back into you,
stepping away from fear, stepping away from the disconnection you have with your body and return to yourself.
I spent SO many Decembers filled with fear, avoiding food, hating my body and feeling alienated from everyone. The holiday period became dark and heavy.
I know I’m not alone in these thoughts and because of that I wanted to create something to support you through the end of the year.
Somewhere you can feel held, return to yourself and let go of fear.

beneath the rush of day to day life,
Then ask yourself how you can honour yourself and hold yourself.
Allowing yoga to be the guide rather than the solution
Not viewing it as the thing that fixes you, but rather the act of movement that guides you to where you need to be
The welcoming of expansion through areas of darkness
The gentle dance between softening and strength
The subtle shifts of energy
The balance of meeting yourself where you’re at and navigating challenge
The art of existing
Things to remember as you move into a new week
you do not need to start dieting because it’s Monday. ‘Starting again’ whether it’s daily or weekly sets you up to be hard on yourself and feel like a failure when it doesn’t work out as you imagined. Be gentle and honour your hunger.
Movement should feel good, not forced. Allow yourself the space to decide what feels good.
The most beautiful thing you can do is find magic within the smallest mothe insignificant times are filled with joy, if you slow down enough to witness them.
What is it that you are focusing on? Where are you spending your energy? Whether that’s thoughts, activities, the people you surround yourself with.
How can you welcome new thoughts and habits to set you up for brilliance?
Because there is already brilliance and wonder within you, just take some time to explore it.
Pay attention to what you need in this very moment
Allow yourself to honour it
Without fear
Without what ifs
Meet yourself here and now 🫶🏻
I know it feels like the control and restriction is the only way to exist,
It brings a false sense of safety, comfort, maybe even joy to a certain extent.
Until it doesn’t bring those things at all and you’re left feeling empty and lost, detached from yourself.
So you you start again, with the intention of being more disciplined, convincing yourself that this time it will work and you will find happiness within the rules.
What if I told you that all of the safety you seek
All of the joy
All of the longing for connection
All happens when you take the time to reconnect to yourself, when you nourish yourself and when you listen to your body.
Your happiness is not determined by diets, strict rules, cutting food groups.
Your happiness is held within the way you treat yourself and the space you hold for yourself.
Find ease
Be gentle
Honour your body
What I’ve come to realise is that navigating life isn’t about perfection.
Whether it’s within relationships,
Healing,
Mending,
The space you reside in,
Your work.
But rather about your intention being your driving force
The intention of what you’re welcoming in
The intention of thoughts you allow to take residence
The intention of your movement
The intention of how you exist in each moment
So often we strive for perfection, we get completely lost along the way and it can be reflected in so many areas of life - our bodies, exercise, presence on social media, our relationships, our work
I encourage you to ponder, to let go of achieving the most perfect existence and instead, acknowledge your intentions and where you maybe might want to adjust them

I was ashamed to exist in my body and dreaded the warmer months
It hurts my heart to look back on because there’s so much join in living, exploring, feeling the warmth of the earth beneath your feet and wearing clothes that allow you to breath
Instead of sucking in your stomach and wishing you could be anyone but yourself.
Maybe this could be the summer you come back to yourself
The summer that you allow yourself to breathe
The summer you find beauty in everything including yourself

Memories that shouldn’t be shrouded in sadness because you believed that you weren’t good enough exactly as you are

Recovery.
It will never feel like the right time.
There will always be that voice, the one telling you that it can’t get better, that you don’t deserve it, that if you just go on a little longer it will be worth it.
The first step towards getting better isn’t ‘the hardest’,
all of it is hard,
Noticing that you aren’t okay is hard, relapses are hard, the good days are hard, the bad days are worse.
But the first step is one of the most important, it signals that you are stronger than the monster clutching onto you, even if you don’t feel like you are.
So no, you will never feel ready.
But I can tell you it is worth it.
To feel alive
To feel free
To feel safe within yourself
To feel at home
To be at peace
It IS possible and you CAN do it.
