We made it! This last year was a testing one, but I'm delighted to be celebrating 9 years of SWALK at Afflecks this weekend 💓

I did not have any kind of plan when I opened except to create an affordable space for local artists to showcase and sell their work in the city centre. And we've grown every year since! Learning and smiling (sometimes crying) along the way 😁

I'm at the shop until 5 today so do pop in if you're in town! I'd love to see your gorgeous faces PLUS we've got barga!ns and free g!fts in store 💖

Happy Friday! I'm currently on my hols in Cyprus and I'm having a verryyyy relaxing time 😌

I know the shop has been in great hands this week with and and I'm super grateful to for picking up an extra shift so we could stay open today 💖 she's a superstar!

🥂 9 Years 🥂

I just realised that yesterday was NINE YEARS since I went self employed.

From my bedroom floor, to all the markets round Greater Manchester, to a full blown shop at it's been a wild 9 years of SWALK!

Working for yourself is hard work but I'm so glad I took the plunge all those years ago. Good job I was already having a little cocktail when I realised! 🥂

🚨 BIG WIN KLAXON 🚨

Today is and I am delighted to share with you that we now have a PERMANENT donation station for period products in Afflecks to help tackle period poverty ❤️

I'm so thrilled and very proud of this, having been trying to make it happen for *years*. After our 7th birthday last year I pestered constantly, and owe huge thanks to Dan at Afflecks for helping me get it over the finish line!💖💖

We brought the donation station up to the shop for the party and it was overflowing with donations by the end of the day so THANK YOU everyone who dropped off tampons and sanitary towels. You can now donate YEAR-ROUND to help support the amazing work of Every Month ❣️

You can find the donation bin in its permanent location outside the Afflecks office on the first floor. Please do drop in donations whenever you're local, they're collected by Every Month who create and distribute packs of menstrual products to food banks and other services for people living in poverty in Greater Manchester 🔴 EVERY MONTH Afflecks Manchester

We did it! Today marks 8 whole years since I opened the shop at Afflecks 🤯

I always want to cry when I write these captions!! 😂🥲 Having a shop is a lot but I'm so grateful to everyone that has supported SWALK to get us to 8 years. So do pop in today so I can celebrate YOU - new faces, regular customers, friends and family, plus artists old and new 💖
