CLOSED TODAY. Open as usual 4pm Friday.

Update on yesterday's improvements.

All works to chimneys and fireplaces went well, the lads stayed late to finish. And now the clean-up. Also the front door area is being painted today, so a no-go til dry.

Normal service resumes tomorrow. Come to warm your cockles with a fine glass of something. And, of course, Ox Inn tapas. (If you know, you know!)

Tomorrow sees the long awaited works to each chimney and fireplace. Long awaited!

The pub will NOT OPEN tomorrow, and Thursday remains doubtful until further notice - watch this space. With luck, Friday will offer you the usual beer and cheer, and also 2 lovely working fireplaces to warm the cockles.

OPEN TODAY and onwards, but inside still in disarray until chimney / fireplace works resume and complete next week.

Open 4pm as usual, but may close early depending upon circumstances until everything is repaired and working correctly next week??

Heads-up folks, TODAY, Tuesday 6th August:

We are CLOSED this eve. Major chimney and fireplace update works have stalled from a materials problem. Hope the lads will be back on-site tomorrow, TBC.

Very sorry to disappoint anyone who was planning to pop-in later on. Normal service will resume asap. Watch this space, and we will see you here for a pint very soon, hopefully in sunshine!

This SATURDAY, tomorrow, for one day only the pub will be open at 7pm, not the usual 4pm. Sorry if this is inconvenient. A very old mate is getting married, and attendance is compulsory!

The Ox is closed today, Monday 8th April, and next Monday too. But open as usual every other day from 4pm, so see you then.

Heads-up - 7 days of Dry January, but only 7 days!
The pub is CLOSED this week, Monday to Sunday. Then open again as usual from Monday 15th at 4pm for your favourite tipple beside the fire.

Opening Hours NEW YEARS DAY:

2pm to 8pm.

Otherwise normal hours, 4pm to 10pm (or earlier if very quiet) as usual each day.

CHRISTMAS OPENING HOURS:

Christmas Eve, normal, 4pm to closing

Christmas Day, 11am to lunchtime or so.

Boxing Day: CLOSED.

27th onwards into 2024, normal, 4pm to closing.

This coming Monday, 18th, 4pm teatime opening as usual, but early close. 7pm? Electricians will be working internally all day. Don't know how functional the inside will be for proper opening.
Tuesday tbc, but will know more come Monday.

Re-Opening Day keeps being delayed by Officialdom. And BT, who seem incapable of re-igniting the existing phoneline. Cannot open without telephone and broadband, but watch this space for a date very soon.

Saturday 3rd June we are having a day of live music and food. We have the huge Andy Rayner and the band, the Ox favourite Richie Gray and Newcastle newcomers Tile playing on our outdoor stage. 2pm start with music from 3pm ish till late. This will be our last event and it's ticketed. The tickets are only £2 each, and all ticket money goes to Cambo young farmers. Get your ticket from the bar today!
