The Cabin at Brockhurst & Marlston House Schools

Ex Brockhurst parent with and are off to Warsaw next week to lend some support to the Ukraine humanitarian mission and also deliver some much needed supplies to the UA fighters - binoculars, tourniquets, clothing, power packs, our list is long.

Macmillan Coffee Morning I’m hosting a Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support, to raise money to support everyone living with cancer.

We have restocked The Cabin with drinks and snacks. All priced between 25p and £1, perfect for an afternoon treat!

We are so pleased to say that the new patio area at The Cabin is now complete! The Cabin will be accessible to parents during school hours from Thursday*

I’m sure that you will all agree it looks absolutely fabulous!

*In line with government restrictions in relation to Covid, groups from different households should remain outside in groups of no more than 6 or no more than two households. This is due to be reviewed on 17 May 2021.

More progress being made on the new patio area of The Cabin - due to be available to parents from 22/4!

It has been a LONG time, but the Cabin will be available once again after the Easter break!

For groups of up to 6 outdoors initially. You will be able to access all of the services internally, we just ask that you seat yourselves outside to remain within the rules.

The School are currently creating a paved terrace to extend The Cabin’s external space. Once this is complete, there will be outdoor seating for 16. Here are some photos of the work in progress!

It was lovely to have Esther from Park Lane Jewellery with us in The Cabin yesterday.

Esther was also raising money for Cystic Fibrosis and we are pleased to say that the BMR has donated our proceeds from this event to the Cystic Fibrosis charity too.

We enjoyed a wonderful sunny day of wreath making on Thursday in The Cabin with some amazing creations!

Nearly there! On track for our grand opening on 5th November 🎉 just finishing touches and the outside facilities to complete now 😄

Today was spent mostly filling holes... lots of holes... even on the ceiling! Meanwhile the worktop is now on!

Great news! When The Cabin opens after half term, we will have super fast Broadband!

We have lights! And cupboard doors! Really starting to take shape now 😁

And a new path being laid

New LED flush light fittings and kitchen being fitted...

And the floor is down!

The lovely Chris has started work on fitting out the cabin today. Job one is to lay a new sub floor...

Stage one complete! The cabin has now been stripped bare thanks to an amazing team of volunteers this morning!

And so the work begins...

Both inside and out, work has now commenced on transforming the old form 3 classroom into The Cabin - a multifunctional space for parents.

The last second hand uniform sale of this half term will take place tomorrow (Friday 20th). We will be open between 8am and 9am and then later at 4pm until 6pm.

This will be the last opportunity this half of term to access the second hand uniform as we need to pack down the area to make way for the refurbishment work that will commence next week.
