On the progress of the new 7aside pitch surface????

The long awaited re-lay of the 3G turf has finally arrived!

As you know, we've made several major improvements to the site and facilities in recent months, but the pitch improvements are the thing everyone (and including us) have been waiting for.

We're delighted to be able to say that work is now underway, and we hope to have the newly laid surfaces ready for action on the 7-a-side pitches (Llwyd & Wye) within the next week!

We appreciate that this will cause some disruption to the use of the pitches for the near future, but we continue to grateful and thank you for your support and understanding, as we go through another exciting phase of our renovation!

Spread the work that the new-look Sifil 3G is up and running! We also now have our new website and booking system, so please visit ysfil.wales where you can fully manage any 3G bookings, as well as getting updates and information on the wider site activities and developments.

We're expecting a very busy winter, and slots are filling up fast, so make sure all your bookings are in the diary ASAP! We also have a 'Friends & Members' option to give discounts, so please contact us for more information

🕑Before we begin to post some amazing deals, we’d like to let you know a little about our ‘Why?’ and what it means to you and our local community.

We have partnered up with Newport City Homes to enable us to reduce landfill and improve our carbon footprint.

🍃How?
Currently, items from house clearances get taken to landfill, where most of these items are brand new or in excellent condition.

🫶🏽What does this mean to you and your community?
We wanted to make a change and aim to provide, quality items at a significantly reduced price and ease the strains of the current ‘cost of living’ crisis.
The money raised from 2nd Time Around, will be used to enhance our site @ Y Sifil - Sports & Community site. Who are currently working to improve the grounds.

June 7th 2023 was an historic date in the lifetime of this site. After nearly 60years of ownership and management, the Civil Service Sports Council (CSSC) finally handed over the keys to local, social enterprise Resultery Projects Cymru.

The original site was unveiled by the CSSC vice-chairman, Sir Noel Curtis-Bennett who described it as “…a new lung for the town of Newport”. As Resultery, we are committed to breathing new life to create a unique, sports and community asset, that delivers real social value, in the heart of Bettws.
In its long and rich history, the Civil Service Sports Ground (as it was originally known) has been the hub of endless community, social and leisure activities. It has provided a home to local sports clubs on the field of football, rugby and baseball. It has also been the destination for countless events, occasions and celebrations.

Despite suffering a lack of investment in recent years, the club has continued to support community development and regeneration activities through partnerships with local authority and Housing associations. It has provided a platform for a thriving local Dance school (GLD) and offered 3G sports facilities, both of which, have benefitted (and will continue to benefit) 1000s of local people of all ages and abilities.

It would be impossible for us to detail the full extent of what the facility has done over the years and how many people have enjoyed it, in its various forms. Its future has been uncertain for several years, but the potential is there for all to see. We are under no illusion about what the place means to individuals, club members (both past and present) and local residents. We aim to respect the sites history and its place as part of the DNA of the local area. We feel really privileged to have the opportunity to keep the place alive and kicking – working with a range of partners and community members to develop and drive the site forward with a fresh set of ideas and energy.

We have taken the decision to formally re-name and rebrand the site to give it a new sense of identity – whilst paying respect to its history. We hope you like what we’ve done and what we’re continuing to do. Our door is always open should you wish to know more about our plans, if you have any questions or whether you just want a general chat to find out more about us and what we do. We are in the process of putting together our website where you will able to find further information and news about what's going on. Please see

Hi all,

We are continuing work on site and over the weekend we are working on Grass area next to the main car park at site.
(Area highlighted in picture below)

There will be a lot of heavy machinery going back and for so if using site this weekend please turn left as enter gate and be extra aware.
DO NOT for any reason access the big main car park from either end please..

Whilst we await major developments on the 3G courts, we've given the current carpets a face lift with our special machine and some good old-fashioned graft! What a difference it's made, I'm sure you agree. Just another sign of things improving day-by-day in order to provide local people with decent facilities they want and need. Watch this space for more improvements in near future. If you want to give the pitches a try, then get in touch!

Just a update to ongoing works at site.
Today the area adjacent to site in tees close has all been cut down and will have a fence put in place so there will no longer be an access point as has been the case recently.
We are trying to develop site so going forward it is a secure sports facility for the community so we hope you can work with us along the way.

As some will already know work ar site has started today.
Car park to left and in front of building is fine.
And
We have managed to have some kind of parking in the big car park to the right on entry..
(In picture you can see, please DO NOT park on yellow area in picture)
This is going to be for next few weeks but if f we work together should hopefully not cause to much hassle..

If you are able to walk to site that would also help massively although we understand if not local that is hard..
