4D Leisure
4D Leisure is a multi-activity center based on Newport Quay, Isle of Wight. Struggle, struggle and yet more struggle. In short. Life! HOW WONDERFUL X
The journey has for the most part been life affirming at times death con 5 stressful, tiring, painfull, heart breaking and rewarding.
Hey gang. For those hoping to get a little game time at RECON today. Due to cancellations. Due to rain yesterday. Last night and today. All blimin year! Today's game has been called off.
It's been a tough year for RECON as it does rely on the weather. Weather as bad I can remember. The players are there. But the weather is against us.
Fortunately other areas of 4D are keeping the lights on. So we will be ready to bounce back with investment in a new safe zone. As soon as we have a dry spell...
π€·ββοΈ
Hey gang. A quick heads-up to our AIRSOFT PLAYERS. Our UKARA is now active again. I don't want to bore you with the agro I have had sorting our insurance this year. But there. Its done. If you have been active as a player and your UKARA has expired. Msg me on here and I'll work through updating your defence for you. If you have not been an active player. Best you come and get a few games in before you request an update... x
SKATES ISLE OF WIGHT X

Hey gang. I've waited till now because with the island you never can tell. But the forecast is now showing rain during the game session. And more importantly. High winds. So I'm making the call. Tomorrow's game is cancelled.
Let's hope for some dryer weather for the last game of the year. Or an ice cold day would be nice...
Hey gang. It's been a while since I felt I had to make a call and cancel a game at RECON.
Due to the forecast and the fact that it's been a pretty heavy week of rain. Tomorrow's game is cancelled. This next week is looking a tad wet also but let's hope there is some dry weather beyond that and we will see you all next game day x
TINYTOWN FOLKS.
Opening real soon... x
Weβve got a private event on this weekend for
Theyβve got to themselves and are doing street routes and a roller disco at then back to us for camping and fire food
Supported by
And... Their off! X
Nearly there gang. Detail. Detail. Detail... x
Will we be running track event days? you say.
We say. Hell yes! All set up already...x
Thought I was done. But no! The detail, it's all in the detail...
For your driving comfort in an ambient setting. We have added fans to each rig and fitted some LEDs. Hunt for Red October stylee. Love an LED me.
A few more hours work in TINYTOWN then its prep time for a busy weekend of skating and partys.
Have a great weekend gang ππ x
So gang. Let me give you a small insight into how my mind works when it comes to the activities I choose for you all. They must be on trend. And in order to be able to share your enthusiasm. I must be able to share your passion. If we like it. We are on the same page... easy sell in my book.
So with that said. I have worked hard. Taken the risks and generally. Been a good boy. Sim racing is on trend. I have had a go and OMG!
I share your passion!
I'm not sure if these will make me drive faster. Find the sweet lines. Hit my braking better or make me good enough to make the 4D RACE TEAM... but I love them and I think I'm worth a little indulgence hahaha x
And gang. We are done! Our all new 4D RACING SUITE is complete. Tomorrow we start again in TINYTOWN. Cleaning and putting a few signs up as well as installing some more CCTV equipment. The start of next week we will be test running everything.
We started this work on October 10th 2022. It's been a long hard 10 months. It's cost everything I had and I've given it everything I am. Has have my amazing team.
It's taken a while i know. But doing all the work ourselves has saved a fortune. Money i just didnt have. This has, however. allowed me to do more for less. Put my spirit into everything and explore my creative side to the max. The trade off has been so worth it.
I have had just one day off since October so I'm planning on taking my foot off the pedal next week. Pun intended. Before we open our new activities for our wonderful island community to enjoy. All being well. The week after...x
A busy Sunday for us at 4D today gang. But before the activities begin. It would be rude not to have a few practice laps around the Nurburg... like ya do! X
END OF WEEK UPDATE.
Nearly there gang!
I could have designed, built and decorated another sim suite in the time it's taken to strip down and rebuild all our simulators. π€
But there. It is what it is and I now have an indepth knowledge on how it all goes together. So time we'll spent.
My small but amazing team have worked tirelessly to get it done. And to the highest standards. We would not want to present to you with anything less than our very best.
I can not stress to you all. Especially our younglings. The importance of surrounding yourself with the right people. People who share your values. People who lift you up. Not pull you down... ππ
One more week and the opening prep starts. I plan to open both TINYTOWN and 4D RACING at the same time. Its been a long but amazingly creative journey. I'm looking forward to putting the tools away though gang and getting to work on developing what we have built. Xβ€οΈ
END OF WEEK REPORT..
And what a week it was gang.
You may recall at the end of last week the bare bones of the rigs where in place and all looked as good as finished!
Well... The rigs had been moved about a lot by the previous owner. And the build quality was OK, but only OK. The Direct Drive was held on in a very haphazard way. So these had to be removed and aluminium plates installed to better accommodate the fixing brackets. Also the rigs where covered in MDF with a kind of fuzzy felt over the top? These where binned and new ply was cut to fit then covered in carbon wrap to create a better look and race vibe to the rigs.
The up side to rebuilding all the rigs from scratch of course is we now know them inside and out so will have a better understanding should any future problems arise that need some maintenance.
We have a busy weekend ahead in other areas of the business but I'll be pushing hard to have everything up and running by the next. Week end update.
Have a great weekend gang x
So gang! That's me done. Of course I could of just put the rigs in place. But no gang. This would not work with my isms. We reverse engineered everything made some upgrades and totally rebuilt from scratch. All that remains now is to dress them. Fit the tech and we are ready to go.
For now though gang. Its time to put my tools away. Have a few days off to unwind and enjoy the festival. ππ xx
Ladies and gentlemen. Boys and girls.
After just two long, hard amazing weeks. My small but amazing team and I. Present to you all.
4D RACINGS sim suite.
THE GRID IOW.
Everything is layed out ready for the hardware build. All seven gaming PCs have been checked serviced and rebuilt.
Roll on Monday morning... x
No compromise ππ
IF! 4D LEISURE WHERE TO BUILD THE ISLANDS FIRST DEDICATED SIM RACING SUITE.
THERE WOULD BE NO COMPROMISE.
JUST AWESOMENESS.
BECAUSE YOUR WORTH IT ππ X
End of week update.
After just two weeks we are about done. All electrics and data points have been installed by The Prince of Darkness. Monday we start the decorating. I'm hoping by weeks end the carpet will be laid and we will be installing the racing rigs... x
Day two on our Sim suite build. Progressing well! A long day, but worth the effort to push the project on. X
So gang. Weeks end report.
The alterations/ upgrades to the rink has been completed without too much interruption to activities. The store on the ground floor is now on the first floor. Mission accomplished.
We now have a clear area to start the build for our 4D RACING suite.
I would say long days with no rest days ahead. But it's been that way for as long as I can remember now. So no difference to me.
Still, it's what I choose and love to do.
Project 4D RACING is go.
LETS DO THIS!! X
And...We're back!
Our whistle stop megathon to Sunderland is complete. With very little sleep in the past 48 hours 4D RACINGS new racing rigs have been unloaded at the venue ready for the new racing suite to be built.
While in Sunderland we were introduced and had dinner with a guy called Tom who is the founder of a company called GRID FINDER.you may not have heard of them yet. But you will know them well once we are up and running. A great networking opportunity for me and very important for me to make such friends if my dreams for 4D RACINNG are to be realised. A Teaser. This will include our own race team...ππ
Once unloaded it was a quick wash then into our kitchen to prepare food for a loverly little skate party. As soon as we are done tonight at the rink, I'll be driving Archie to Cowes where he is the guest DJ at the Chamber of commerce awards ceremony. After, I'll be driving him home. Then for some much needed sleep. Before a busy weekend of party's and private events. Then on to the build come Monday.
It is tiring. Stressful at times. Off the chain risky and 110% life consuming.
But there is NOTHING! I would rather be doing with my precious time on this earth. So. No work at all. Xβ€οΈ
Big thanks to Mike Hobson for being my wingman on the trip. And Archie for holding the Fort while I was away.
Much love to you both x
ROAD TRIP!!
A Luton has been ordered. Ferry has been booked. Working outs have been done and materials ordered.
Project 4D RACING is GO!!
I don't like to leave the island if I can avoid it but next week I'll be traveling to Sunderland. Which I think is near Norway? to pick up our new race car simulators.
From now until then we will be working to finish TINYTOWN and getting some prep work done on this new project. So, you will soon see some slight alterations to our rink as a first step. Everything has now become time critical as I intend to open TINYTOWN and 4D RACING at the same time. The reason for this is once both are complete I can concentrate on running them both and not be distracted by another build project running in the background. In my mind, this makes sense. We will see.
What this does mean of course, is the next four weeks are going to be crazy busy for my team and I. Another journey into the unknown. Another adventure to explore. Brand new memories to create.
I'm so exited! X
THE DEALING HAS BEEN DONE GANG!
The newest edition to 4D LEISURE has been secured. Is packed and ready for pick up.
It's early days gang but I'm formulating a plan on how we will run 4D RACING. Walk in and play. Is for now! Problematic. So once our racing suite is built we will be offering racing syndicates at a set price for upto 6 members per session. This way. I believe, we can offer the best value. As the normal model ive researched for such a thing will, I believe. Be too expensive for it to be used how i want it to be used.
There is more detail for me to unravel on this. So this is just a heads up.
It's coming soon.
And will be run my way. For you. At the right price. X
So gang, I'm planning my next moves, and in doing so, I've taken a deep dive into the pros n cons of the long list of things I want to get done. What the budget can afford and what will have to wait a while longer.
The upgrade and tidy of our safe zone at RECON is a must do. And will be done. At the same time. I know, I know. I'll be adding sim racing to our growing number of activities we offer at 4D .
Four, to start with... high spec motion, motor racing simulators. For stag/hen party's and general use. Don't fancy skating? Hit the tarmac instead! Would I invest in this as a stand alone business? No gang I would not. But as an additional activity we can offer? Yes indeed!
COMING SOON X
Plans,plans,plans...
Some of you will know we are fast approaching the end of project TINYTOWN.
It's been a real joy to work on. It's been a long and at times, hard going journey. But so worth the effort. As is anything worth while...
I should now take the time to enjoy what we have done. But gang, I'm on a mission! A mission to create something wonderful for all ages and all budgets to enjoy.
Activities like no other, run like no other. Run my way. Copying no one!
I have several projects in planning. A few of them are financially beyond my grasp. For now... a few are not. These are going to happen soon!
First up will be a long awaited upgrade to our safe zone at ISLAND RECON. You have been patient with me gang while I have been knee deep on other projects. It will be worth the wait...
Next up will be the opening of TINYTOWN MARKET. A role play experience for our very young with TINYTOWN as the backdrop.
Next I'll be opening a VR suite with both pods and areas to free roam while playing some of the best games available in the VR market.
Big challenges ahead for my team and I gang but we have already reached beyond our grasp and achieved amazing things together.
And...
If your dreams don't scare you. Your not dreaming big enough.
