Fun new project work in progress. I was contacted to do a commission piece after a customer saw one of my crescent moon bonsai pots. This great project was to make a larger one without drainage holes for carnivorous plants in a black clay.
I made a form to get the basic shape and then hand textured and carved the surface to look like rock and adding small feet to get the result shown.

To many people this is just a boring picture of some bags of clay. But to me it’s possibilities, it’s exciting. I am working on a number of fun projects pictures coming soon.

Who else gets excited over a clay delivery?

Shirley handcrafted a lovely Hamsa Hand Ceramic Incense Stick Holder / Burner.

If you burn stick incense, you will love one of these incense stick stands. With a small hole in the top to hold the incense stick.

This Hamsa Hand shaped dish is handcrafted and formed, with the added stamp detail. Hand glazed in Blue Green. The glaze breaks and pools making a lovely one off finish. Fired up to 1220°C in our home studio electric kiln.

Started glazing some bonsai pots today. Always fascinating to see the finish change from when glazed to fired and the final colour. The second picture shows a bonsai pot glazed and when fired will be a green finish. The third picture will be clear!!🙃

Glazing Glazing Glazing!! Matching up some new Amaco Potters Choice glaze. This is a great range of glaze to use and I love the way it brakes over texture. Real mix of items to glaze. Tortoise, Cat, bonsai pots and test tiles for all the new colours. Looking forward to the results fingers crossed for the kiln gods help.
