"Are you a mature driver (aged 60+)? Live in Northamptonshire? Rely on being able to drive? This FREE roadshow is for you!
Driving is an important part of our everyday life and we (Northamptonshire Safer Roads Alliance (NSRA)) are keen to help to keep mature drivers driving safer for longer.
Our driving ability to drive changes over time for different reasons, especially as we get older. It’s important that we recognise whether and how our driving is changing so we can stay safe and protect both ourselves and those around us.
This Mature Drivers Roadshow is aimed at drivers 60+, and will cover all different aspects of driving. There will be a short talk and then plenty of time to meet informally with our many stand holders. Free advice will be available on car adaptions, eyesight, how your prescription medications may affect you, and much more."

We had a great turn out at our residents forum last night. Thank you to everyone that came along. (Who knew Highways issues could be so much fun!) Our thanks to our community liaison officer from West Northamptonshire Council for joining us. Lots of actions to follow up on. We will keep everyone updated at our next Forum on Tuesday 1st October 2024.
In the meantime if you need to report an abandoned vehicle you can report it here ELVIS (End of Life Vehicle Impound Scheme) on 08456 121 999, or email: [email protected]. When you report a vehicle you need the registration number, make and model, colour, location and the condition of the vehicle.
To report graffiti, fly tipping, pot holes, overgrown hedges and other defects you can report those through Fix My Street. https://www.fixmystreet.com/
Thank you Lemonpop Workshops!
Please share! Parking scam alert ⚠️
Scammers are placing QR codes on our machines that take you to a fake site that asks for your payment information etc and then takes money from you allegedly for parking in the car park.
We offer NO paid for parking services via QR codes and these should NOT be used on any of our on-street parking machines or at Northampton car parks or Country Parks.
Image below was a code stuck on a machine in Midsummer Meadow car park found today.
Anyone who uses these codes will have money taken from their account, will NOT have paid for parking and may then receive a penalty charge notice.
It was lovely to see so many children and their families enjoying our summer programme yesterday, there's still plenty more activities to enjoy this summer. See the full programme in the comments.
Join us tomorrow at 7.30pm, Far Cotton Rec Centre for our bi-monthly Residents Forum. All local people are welcome, and we'll be joined by Helen Howard from West Northamptonshire highways to answer any questions you may have about local roads. 🚗🚛🚲
We look forward to seeing you there!
