Natalie Duncan will be performing a few tracks and being interviewed by our own Adam Pickering, talking creativity and her best part of two decades in the music industry... Oh, and an upcoming new album!

Natalie has been performing at Hockley Hustle since at least 2007, near our 2006 beginnings... we managed to find a photo of her from 2008, the last one in this post!

According to her bio this was before her discovery in 2009, her part in the Goldie's Band By Royal Appointment, getting signed to Decca, and all her success that has followed.

Nottingham, just WOW. Hockley Hustle 2024 was the biggest and most beautiful to date! 💚🎊

A huge THANK YOU to every artist, staff member, promoter, volunteer, engineer and to every single Hustler for being a part of it all. Your enthusiasm and generosity will help to make an impact to the lives of so many vulnerable people across our city and county.

We’ll share the final total raised for our chosen charities at this year’s festival in the coming days as well as plenty more moments from the day, but for now, a massive thank you and so much love from us to you.

A head of tomorrow, we want to say a huge THANK YOU and HAPPY HUSTLING to every Hustler involved. We can’t wait to sing and dance with you all.

A huge shout out and thank you to the 40+ venues, our incredible group of promoters and the 400+ artists, poets and creatives who’ll be doing their thing onstage throughout the day.

A reminder of the incredible charities that the Hustle is supporting this year. Just over a week to go! A reminder that Young Hustlers is also happening.. 🤹‍♀️

Young Hustlers is our sister festival, a vibrant music and arts festival held annually since 2017 in the heart of Nottingham’s Sneinton Market. If you are or have a creative young person, then join us at YH for a day of music, arts and lovely moments.

Taking place across multiple indoor and outdoor venues, the festival features a mixture of live performances, interactive workshops, and energetic parties, to enjoy and create music and art alongside talented local artists.

This is our final callout for volunteers to help out behind the scenes at this year’s Hustle, next weekend!

Volunteer shifts run between 9am - 10pm and last for 3 hours. In exchange for volunteering, you will receive a free festival wristband, an exclusive Hockley Hustle t-shirt, and our appreciation for supporting the running of the festival. We are also happy to provide work references for volunteers afterward.

Rastarella - Cultural Vibrations - 15 years
Hockley Hustle 2024 venue - Metronome

Born in Trinidad, Rastarella is a world music event producer, an empowerment speaker and hosts on Nottingham’s number one urban radio station, 97.5 Kemet FM. She is also a mother of three daughters, a SEN mother, and married. If you ever get to meet Rastarella, you will never forget it. Launching her signature event Cultural Vibrations in 2009 at Hockley Hustle and founding the Nottingham Global Roots Festival in 2015, 2024 marks her fifteenth year in business. It's a massive milestone as a grassroots promoter who is consistently showcasing music from around the world at numerous venues, events and festivals.

Parisa - Acoustickle - 15 years

Parisa East is a music artist and entrepreneur with many years of experience promoting live music events, supporting local talent, and providing quality cultural experiences in Nottingham. In 2009 she launched Acoustickle: a live music platform to spotlight emerging artists, and encourage musicians to share their original compositions with respectful audiences. With decorated venues, and intimate, inspiring performance spaces, the immersive atmosphere captivates all that are present.

Lady V - V Rocket International - 60 years
Hockley Hustle 2024 venue - Metronome

Lady V heads up V Rocket International - a sound system but also a long lasting community. The UK has a long, rich history of reggae music and sound system culture. V.Rocket International is a foundational UK sound system that has been able to evolve and remain relevant to the sound system culture for sixty years. One of the key elements to their sustenance has been the establishment of the V.Rocket dynasty.

Our friends at Acoustickle are hosting an incredible show this Friday evening 🇬🇲 🪕

World renowned Gambian musician and former Hockley Hustle artist Suntou Susso will be back in Nottingham with his kora instrument and full live band, playing Afrofunk and soul. Born a Griot in a 700-year old tradition, the Kora – harp-lute with 22 strings – is unique to the Griots of the Mandinka people. Griots have a unique societal role as oral historians, transmitting and preserving a people’s culture through the generations in song, music and poetry. Suntou’s family includes some of the world’s most well-respected West African musicians. His musical abilities are outstanding, perhaps unique for his generation. An in-demand and charismatic performer, he attracted attention as soon as he arrived on the UK music scene.

Plus support from emerging Afrobeats and Amapiano artists Riddla and Mazy and a DJ set from Lemon Eye for what promises to be an inspiring celebration of African genres.
