Midsummer comes but once a year. As the seasons shift like clockwork and the festival of light fades to night, there are secrets lurking on the riverbed. Darkness can cover a great many horrors, and tonight the river feeds. Are you ready to be swallowed into the depths of the Thames?
Weaving together an original folk score, spoken word, and a story about the dark sides of relationships, Thamesis invites us into the mystical world of pagan festivals. Colmo Theatre presents a new q***r solo show that explores the act of severing yourself from dark memories in order to survive... and the sometimes unwanted consequences that come with it.
Thamesis posters and flyers spotted out in the wild!

Meet our crew and (1) cast, ahead of next week’s performances!
The show would not have been possible without these wonderful creatives, and this little village made the show what it is 🥰 (Nathaniel is vv grateful for them all)

A post dedicated to our new logo and name, for all of you asking 😌
Colmo Theatre, once called Votive Theatre, decided in August to change our name, owing to another theatre company taking the name during our hiatus 😓
The name ‘Colmo’ came from a dog that , , and crossed paths with whilst in Edinburgh at the Fringe. The story is one of legend, and if you ever find one of us in a pub, we’ll take a pint in exchange for the full story 🤫🤫 (there is a very small chance we all heard the owner wrong and the massive demon dog was not called Colmo)

Text in Post:
Thamesis
pronounced: tem-a-sis (like nemesis)
An anglicised version of the Latin Tamesis.
The origin of the river Thames' name is largely obscured by history, although the Brittonic 'Tamesas' seems to come from the Sanskrit 'Tamasa', meaning 'dark river'.
