With Men’s Health Week and Father’s Day around the corner, we’re launching a major campaign to save men's lives by telling our dads, brothers, sons, and mates that it’s about time they checked their risk of getting prostate cancer. Dispelling myths in order to encourage more men to get tested.
You don’t need a ‘finger up the bum’ to diagnose prostate cancer - but around half of men think you do! A ‘finger up the bum’ is not a useful test for prostate cancer, yet around half of men who haven’t checked their risk of the disease still think they’d need a re**al exam to get tested.

Two very different events attended by the branch on Saturday. Our Postal Executive member Andy Hopping was in London demonstrating against the continuing genocide in Gaza. Whilst our Branch Sec was in Burford Oxfordshire, marking the anniversary of the killing of 3 soldiers who lead the Levellers movement in 1649. Posies were laid for the soldiers along with one for Tony Benn who was a longtime supporter of the event. This was followed by a march through the town and debate.
Last nights event in response to the announcement of a second bid to buy out Royal Mail. This is a bid the board are taking seriously and have until the 29th to respond to. Hear how the CWU plan to involve our members and react to protect our jobs.

The branch is also supporting a delegation to Levellers Day on Saturday. Within the boundaries of Carterton Delivery Office, where 30 plus of our members work, Burford is the home to the Levellers Movement. An organisation of ordinary people that began in the 1600's, to fight the unjust rule of parliament. Under Cromwells orders, many were imprisoned and several sentenced to death and shot in the churchard at Burford.
Join others for a day of remeberance, debate, and a walking tour of the area where this all took place.
