July is an important month for Lions - it marks the start of the new Lionistic year. New club presidents, new committees to look after things like fundraising and welfare, a new president's project to provide focus for the next 12 months.
The 1st of July also marks the first day of the Action for Happiness "Jump Back Up" July calendar, providing some great tips for getting back on your feet, whether you're climbing out of a rut or dealing with something more serious.
Tomorrow's task is to be willing to ask for help if you need it. And if that help is something that Lions can provide, this is the perfect opportunity to get in touch. As it is if you feel that maybe you have help you can offer to your community but need some help channelling it.

We were really pleased to be able to support Go Grace Go with over £1000 towards Grace's post-operative physio. And it's lovely to see such a nice write-up in the Peterborough Telegraph about the family's efforts (and we even get a mention!)
Read it for yourself here!

A great evening of fun and fundraising (and curry!), for a great local cause. Really happy to have been able to help!
Phenomenal
Peterborough Lions Club not only generously raised £400 in May for Go Grace Go, but tonight they and Maharanis Restaurant Hampton arranged a beautiful meal adding ANOTHER £600 to the donation. What a wonderful evening with amazing company. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, forever grateful Carl & Jo 💜
Joyful June is upon us. And yes it has been for a couple of days already - a certain social media person was too busy enjoying the unexpectedly warmer weather to remember to post this month's calendar on time!
I hope the delay hasn't caused any angst - but on the flip side it's a reminder that there's actually no time limit on the activities which can all be done whenever you feel the urge (there, that's today's ticked off!).
Today (Monday 3rd) also marks the start of National Volunteering Week. If you have any great suggestions for voluntary activities let's hear them below - obviously your local friendly Lions Club is a great option, and we're always looking for new members, but we're a community organisation to our core so we're happy to promote the good works being done by others too, After all, that's one of the best ways to bring joy to your June!.
Another month has arrived, and if you're unsure which one we "May" have the answer you're looking for!
This month is all about meaning. Such as today's starter for the month: "do something kind for someone you really care about". I'm going to start small and take a coffee to my underappreciated wife - what are you going to do?
The answers to A Right Royal Quiz are now available on our website at www.peterboroughlions.org.uk
Let us know how you got on!
If you sent us an SAE for an answer sheet they'll be heading out to you in the next few days.

Slightly later than planned due to illness but this evening we've completed the Right Royal Quiz winners draw!
Only 13 entrants got 100%, so if you didn't send yours in you might have missed out on a prize.
Winners will be notified shortly and prizes will head towards you in the next few days. The answers will be released as quickly as we can put the information together, watch this space!
The phrase "Mindful March" conjures up those peaceful but purposeful walks that give you the time and (literally) breathing space to think things through and put the world to rights. But this month it also aims to have us thinking more - about ourselves, about our friends and family, about the world around us.
The Lions Code of Ethics, which all Lions will be familiar with, includes such relevant phrases as "To Be Careful with my criticism and liberal with my praise; to build up and not destroy." Mindful March is an excellent time to take these codes to heart and redouble our efforts to apply them in our daily interactions.

Pinch, punch, first of the month.... Yes February is here, the shortest of all the months and a brief interlude before spring starts to lift our spirits.
So what we all need in these remaining dark and cold days is friendship - welcome to Friendly February. Here at our local Lions Club we're always thinking about our community and how we can help those in need (so that's today ticked off!). What are your plans for this month - how will you make the best of existing friendships and forge new ones?
if you're in need of friendship you could do worse than contact your local Lions Club - membership comes with free fellowship included. But whoever your friends, let February be the month to focus on those relationships.
So, Happy February, our Peterborough friends!
Supporting our community doesn't always mean spending cash. And we're proud to add a little extra manpower to support the work of Peterborough Litter Wombles Association collecting litter around Peterborough, today around Bretton Centre. 62 bags of litter removed from the area!
Over Christmas, we got through 26 tubs of sweets. Santa promises he gave most of them away to the wonderful children and adults he met, athough we're sure he ate a few himself and we're not sure that Rudolf didn't get his nose into a tub at some point!
That's a lot of plastic, so you'll be pleased to know that, not only have they been recycled, but they're raising funds for Macmillan in the process.
Thank you to Lions Margaret, Erica and Gaby (pictured)!
