University of Plymouth Law Society: Negotiations

We are very excited and honoured to have KBG Chambers come to University of Plymouth to give our University of Plymouth Law Society members a ‘Talk on how to become a Barrister’.

We would like to thank Deni Mathews, Nigel Hall, Feleena Grosvenor, Georgina Stein-Hemmings and Colin Palmer, for their continuous support and invaluable insight they are going to share with us. Our UPLS members will learn about the various paths to becoming a barrister, skills required for a successful interview and be able to ask those burning questions they’ve always wanted to know the answers too.

KBG Chambers offers quality legal advice and vast knowledge, representing all aspects of family, civil and criminal law, throughout the South West and beyond. With over forty members offering a wide range of specialist advice, the Legal 500 Recommendation 2022 stated; ‘KBG Chambers is fantastic and always willing to go above and beyond where possible to provide assistance.’

I would like to thank KBG Chambers once more for coming to speak to our members today, and to thank Mollie Pellowe for all her hard work in co-organising this event with me.

Hi everyone, we are Chloe and Mollie. We thought that we would do this post to introduce ourselves as the new Negotiation Officers for this year. Although our title is Negotiation Officers we are also running the Client Interviewing competition

Both of these are a great way of getting involved in the society, learning practical legal skills for the future and we will regularly post to this page with updates for both competitions!

The deadline is tomorrow for submitting applications for any role on the committee.

This is a great opportunity for anyone and we have both enjoyed every second on the committee so we encourage anyone to join!

You gain key skills such as team work skills, public speaking skills and professionalism skills. All very important things to put on your CV!

However, the most important thing is that you will be working with an amazing group of people and you will gain so many friends for life!
