Flameworks is holding two open days this August, when the doors will be open to the public from 10am - 6pm.

Visitors will have the chance to see demos in blacksmithing, casting, ceramics and hot glass, as well as enjoy refreshments and browse a range of handmade contemporary craft and fine art for sale.

Entrance is free, but all donations to help us continue our work will be gratefully received.

Plymouth University Architecture students get to work on their prototypes for Port Eliot Festival's sustainable materials project; testing materials, fixing methods and structural integrity.
Final designs will be constructed on site at Port Eliot outside the fantastic Hole & Corner Maker Tent next week at Port Eliot Festival 2016.

The project investigates the potential latent in local materials and typically overlooked in a construction climate geared towards mass production and long distance transport and explores the creative problem-solving abilities of architects. The project serves as a challenge to our current practices of industrialised material production over locally sourced sustainable materials, and as a reminder of the significant numbers of people living in circumstances of displacement, impermanence and/or scarcity.
