With a few early squid around, I couldn't resist not having a go myself this evening. Caught my first squid of the year with a bonus cuttle fish! Excellent fun! I will be looking to put a few squid trips up on my schedule shortly. 🐙

Some quality bass for the Lymington guys today! Great to see a few floats disappearing with a couple of decent bass on!

Some great sport on the light gear today!

Plenty of disappearing floats today! A good number of bass on the livebaits. A few kept for the table with the rest being returned for another day.

Plenty of admin going on today whilst a having a few days off due to the wind. The 2025 diary is now open for anyone wanting to get the best tides booked in!

An early start this morning to try and beat the forecasted SSW afternoon wind. The guys managed a few bass on the floats. Finished the with heaps of mackerel and scad. It looks like a few days off with the given forecast but hopefully get back to it soon.

A great day with Lymington sea fishing club! Slow at times but still managed a great number of species. The guys managed 2 auxiliary bream which are the first ones we've seen this year! 2 bream which we couldn't identify but believe it could be red bream which would make 25 species onboard today!

Lots of dolphins today most I've seen in a long time! Picked up a few squid 🐙 today which is early to previous years.

A nice flat calm evening with a few fish to go with it!

Not a real one unfortunately but a rubber one that looks like it's been on the bottom for a while and no longer sings.

A great session on the tope today! A flat calm sea and plenty of bending rods to finish off a perfect day with a few bream for the table!

Great to get back to it today after a much needed day off yesterday.
Plenty of po***ck and mackerel to start the day off. A good mix of fish for the guys at anchor with some nice tope, bream,congers, and wrasse.

A little late posting this, as it’s been frantic of late. I’m happy to announce that Ocean Runner has successfully secured a permit for the 2024 Bluefin tuna (BFT) catch and Release Recreational Fishery (CRRF).

Just home from a 4 day Alderney trip with a great bunch of guys! Plenty of bream and bull huss fishing local to the island along with heaps of mackerel. Fishing on the banks again proved slow as expected but the guys still managed to find a few turbot. Nice to see a reasonable amount of po***ck on the wrecks although not of any great size along with codling. All in all a great 4 days with a good mixed bag of fish.

A very enjoyable days fishing today with Lymington fishing club! It was great to have a flat sea and some sun. A respectable 19 species today.

Well that's a first for me! A seahorse found inside a Red gurnard.

Glorious day out today! A great stamp of hard fighting quality bass on the lures.

A great mixed bag for the guys on this evenings trip. 6 Rays, Bream,smoothound and a bonus bass caught on bream gear.

A quick dash over to Alderney yesterday for only the one night unfortunately due to the forecasted fresh NE the next 2 days resulting In our trip being cut short to 2 days apposed to the originally planned 4.

Day 1 saw us fishing the banks for turbot which proved hard going with only a couple landed.

On our route home we fished the wrecks which produced some nice po***ck for the guys.

Another pleasure to have team Ireland out on another practice day today. A small mixed bag of species to start the day off then this great streaked gurnard with this being only the 2nd one aboard Ocean Runner. Finished with a bonus gilthead bream which is the first one of the year for us!

A quality couch's bream today whilst out on a practice day for the home nations competition with the Ireland team. Great to see as it been a few years since we've seen one fishing locally.

A great days fishing today with Lymington fishing club! Plenty of bass for the guys to stuck into on the livebaits with some great sport on the floats in the afternoon.

Plenty of bream,thornback rays, congers, whiting, mackerel and some bass that had unusual shaped heads. Only ever seen a bass before with this blunt nose.

Some nice bass for the guys to get amongst today on the livebaits! The best bass went to Tom.

A lovely day's fishing today in the sunshine blessed with a flat calm sea. The guys were rewarded with a few nice bass on floats using livebaits.

First trip of the year. It feels great to be back at the helm!
