Elivate, We ❤️ what we do
Stud wall is up to make an En-suite. We have made an opening for a pocket door.
Celotex is down at this project in Caversham ready for the screed
Upper floor done, joist caps fitted to protect end grain from moisture, ply deck down and steel support beams in.
This job in Caversham is flying.
How it started vs how it is going.
This rather uninspiring rear elevation needs to be treated the Elivate way.
Extend out part single, part double storey rear extensions, knock through rear wall and support with some chunky steel beams. Fabulous new open plan Kitchen with informal dining area on the ground floor and additional bedroom on the first.
Roof being pitched as I type.
Just down the road from one of our other projects, another Elivate team, (led by Barrie) have brickwork up to wall plate height, first floor is in and steel beams fitted.
Roof carcass starts next week.
Very proud to be a part of this!
Showcasing a single-storey extension with landscaping included in the project.
It is always wonderful to showcase a new project when it has been completed, this is a single-storey extension, which began back in October 2023 and the client moved into the new space by Christmas that year. We have not wanted to share this new project until the landscaping has been completed.
The construction of the project was carried out over a 10-week window, with some challenging weather during that time. This client was adding 3 new rooms on the ground floor, which included extending the kitchen space, adding a new TV/Playroom and a study. A new kitchen was fitted for the extension and there were additional renovation works carried out in the property, including a beautiful new walk-in-shower bathroom. The new rear access was a bifold door facing the rear garden
The customer took the opportunity to extend their leisure garden space by fencing part of the side/front garden area, laying faux grass lawn and finishing off with beautiful new porcelain paving.
If you are looking to renovate or remodel your home, which might include a loft conversion or an extension, get in touch for an initial consultation today.
Dry lining (affectionately known as ‘Tacking’) started at this project in Caversham.
Whilst that’s happening, we have another team in the garden starting the landscaping.
New lintel, brickwork adjusted, and new door fitted in Caversham 👌
Quality in the building industry comes with a trademark and that is TrustMark
Elivate Ltd has been a member of the Federation of Master Builders since June 2016 and through that membership became a member of Trustmark over 2 years ago.
The company was recently approached by TrustMark, to join in with some promotional videos and talk about their membership of the Trustmark standard.
For those of you who know Mark, he is great behind a camera, and I hope you agree he did an amazing job in this video for the Trustmark team.
It is always much easier to do something like this when you are speaking with authority and integrity. Elivate’s core values are built on quality delivery, quality craftsmanship, and honesty. The business has grown primarily through word of mouth, with the majority of the new projects coming from recommendations, either through existing domestic customers or through professional partners like architects and surveyors.
Building a successful business means making certain commitments to yourself, your team and your customers. The Trustmark accreditation is the only Government endorsed scheme, where you can rely on the company you are selecting to have been through a rigorous quality check. Not just once, but continuous checks to ensure all works are to the high standards required.
The small domestic builder is still up against a reputation which is plagued by rouge builders, and the membership of TrustMark can reassure customers are choosing the right builder for their job. Elivate says “ it’s not about get in, get done, and get out”, “it’s about getting the job done right” and on a recent Google review a customer wrote “We're so pleased we went with Elivate - they delivered a high-quality extension and were a pleasure to work with”
If you are looking for a competent builder in the Reading, Berkshire area, get in touch for an initial consultation with Mark.
Looking for extra space without the cost of a full extension? A garden room might be your perfect solution!
We recently built a garden workshop for a client in Hampshire, providing a dedicated space for their carpentry hobby. Garden rooms can serve various purposes: gym, office, playroom, meditation space, or just a chill spot.
Here are some benefits:
🔨 Cost-effective: Cheaper than a full home extension.
🔨 Customizable: Tailor the space to your needs.
🔨 Minimal disruption: Construction stays outside your main living area.
🔨 Quick build: Completed in as little as two weeks.
🔨 Value-boosting: Increases your home's value.
🔨 Eco-friendly: Timber-framed with a low carbon footprint.

Thank you for all your support, I have smashed my personal target for the charity walk for for the incredible Chapter2 Charity in Reading.
On Saturday 15th June, I attempted to walk 26 miles with the same incline as base camp to the Everest summit.
This was undoubtedly the hardest physical thing I have ever attempted and I am incredibly proud of what we all achieved. We began the walk at 4am, it was dark enough to require a torch to navigate the Cumbrian countryside. The aim was to walk 26 miles, 3522 metres of elevation, (this being the height of base camp of Everest) in 24 hours, to raise £100,000 for the charity.
After 16 hours of non-stop walking and climbing, we decided to abandon the final mountain and leave it to the younger more experienced walkers. This was backed up by our mountain guide’s advice (I cannot lie, this was music to my ears), it was by then 8pm and it had barely stopped raining for the majority of the walk. It was going to take another 5 hours for us to complete (of which 4 hours would have been in the dark) and the last leg was considered tricky.
32 of us started the walk, 5 were injured, 14 finished the penultimate goal and 5 brave walkers carried on and smashed the final mountain (I take my hat off to you). Although I felt deflated that I couldn’t complete the last part of the walk, my legs also couldn’t have done another 5 hours, but I was satisfied I had given my 100% and that I could hold my head high on my return.
I had set myself the target of raising £1,000.00 and through the generosity of my friends, family, work colleagues, clients and people from my local area, at the last check, I had raised £1,767.00, so an enormous thank you to you all. As a group, the charity has raised £85,000, so if you have a spare £15,000 knocking around, I know they would be eternally grateful. 😉
If you think you could be cut out for it, the charity are always looking for male mentors. Please follow the link below to find out more. I am about to embark on the training program that will enable me to start to support a young lad in the Reading area.
An enormous thank you to Roger Ganpatsingh for the introduction to this incredible charity and event. If oyu would like to learn more about this charity, follow this link: https://www.chapter2.org.uk/mentor

Stud walls almost complete on a first floor renovation.
This roof is almost complete - just the warm deck, flat roof to do and then finish off barn end hips and jacks.
Last week I posted about a Reading project where we were taking all of the old render off ready for new render and putting on new fascia and soffits.
Check out the image I posted last week alongside the finished product - cleaned up and looking great!
We built an extension for this happy client at the beginning of the year, they were so pleased with our work that they invited us back to do the landscaping of their home too.
We love it when we get asked back!
This is part of the CDM requirements (Construction Design Management) for one of our commercial projects at Hotel Du Vin Henley.
All contractors have to be inducted and sign in.
We are carrying out repairs and improvements post water leak. All will be completed by the time Henley Regatta starts.
Reading project – all old render taken off and ready for the new render. We’ll also be putting on new fascia and soffits.
Project in Bucklebury.
We are removing the roof from the garage, which is attached to the main house. Then we are extending to the front and extending up to create two floors. Steel framework will provide support.
The garage is being turned into a separate dwelling with a bedroom and en-suite to first floor, kitchen and open space living area to ground floor. Can’t wait for the finished result!
Good luck to Mark and the Reading Team who are in the Lake District today and tomorrow, effectively climbing to Everest’s peak from base camp. So that’s 26 miles, 3522 metres of elevation in 24 hours and the purpose is to raise £100,000.
The money raised is to be donated to Chapter2 which is a charity that provides mentors to fatherless boys, these male role models become significant people in these young men's lives and the charity supports both the mentor and young person.
These boys are all local to Reading and Mark is currently going through the process of applying to become a mentor, and what a fantastic mentor he would be!
They have been training for months and this weekend they are putting that training to the test.
Good luck team – you can do it! 💪

Have you heard of the charity Chapter2 and the incredible work they do?
The Reading team has recently inspired me, so I will be walking with them for the Father's Day Challenge on the 15th – 16th of June, where we will be spending two days in the Lake District, effectively climbing to Everest’s peak from base camp. So that’s 26 miles, 3522 metres of elevation in 24 hours and the purpose is to raise £100,000.
Chapter2 is a charity that provides mentors to fatherless boys, these male role models become significant people in these young men's lives and the charity supports both the mentor and young person.
These are all local boys from Reading, and I am currently going through the process of applying to become a mentor, alongside doing this walk to help raise funds to support the work the charity is doing. I was fortunate to have my dad around all my life and I know how important that is for any young lad growing up.
Last year my son and I walked to the peak of Ben Nevis, a great opportunity to spend time together, and a huge reminder of how running my own business has meant I have been able to be available for all of my children as and when I was needed. These young men, who access the support of Chapter2 are looking for that support, guidance and direction.
The construction industry is still very male-dominated and therefore, more likely to be affected by this issue. I was shocked to learn that 1-in-2, 15 year old boys in the UK are not living with both parents, the majority of which live with their Mum. They are likely to face far more challenges than those with a positive father-figure in their lives.
I have been in training for this event for months, having already achieved 18.5 miles in the Chilterns with a weighted back-pack. I know this is going to be a personal challenge for me, but when I hear about what these young men have to deal with daily, I am up for the challenge.
If you are interested in sponsoring or finding out more about the walk or what the charity does, get in touch, or please do feel free to sponsor me 👉 https://www.justgiving.com/page/mark-fowles-1704785391119?utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=page%2Fmark-fowles-1704785391119&utm_source=whatsapp&utm_campaign=pfp-whatsapp

Our extension project in Caversham is coming along nicely!
Acrow props, needles and strong boys in place, ready for the steelwork. The brickwork pointing has a dye added to blend in with the bricks. This is all part of the Architect’s design brief.
Securing a reputable builder is essential to a well run project, choose one with the best accreditations on the market.
