Contact information, map and directions, contact form, opening hours, services, ratings, photos, videos and announcements from The Beacon Playgroup at St Andrew's United Reformed Church, Scarborough, Charitable organisation, Scarborough.
The Beacon Playgroup is a warm and welcoming place where all babies and young children are invited to play freely while their parents and carers enjoy a cup of tea and social time.
Playgroup is on today at 10am! We probably won’t be singing at the end as I have almost lost my voice (unless we have a volunteer to lead the singing?!)
Playgroup is on today at 10.00! We are looking forward to seeing you all xx
There is NO PLAYGROUP this week due to the hall being in use for voting. We will be back on Thursday 11th July and Thursday 18th July!
We will run 2 Summer holiday sessions this year, on Thursday 8th August and Thursday 22nd August.
Come and Play this morning!
There is a coffee morning held each Wednesday in the church hall, to which everyone is very welcome. There are colouring sheets for the children, as well as the slide and playhouse and a few other little toys to occupy them while you enjoy a nice cuppa x
Come and join us for a mug of freshly brewed Fairtrade coffee and a slice of homemade cake tomorrow morning from 10.00am!
Tea / coffee £1.50
Cake £1.00 a slice
Juice and biscuits available for children
We’re looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning. We have a couple of requests for parents…
🚽 🚻 When your child goes to the toilet, please can you accompany them. We had to get the plumbers in this week to clear a blockage of LOTS of toilet paper that had been flushed down.
🍌 🍇 🧃 Please supervise your children at snack time to ensure they are sitting at the red tables and not wandering around with food as this causes a lot of mess and choking hazards.
🧸 🎶 Please can everyone help at tidy up time so that I can get on with nursery rhyme time.
Thank you! I’m finding it quite difficult running playgroup on my own so any additional help with these things is really appreciated xx
Is anyone else sick of this weather?! ☔️ 🌧️ 💨 🥶
We will make sure the hall is toasty warm for you all tomorrow and the coffee will be ready at 10am.
See you in the morning 😃
Doors open at 10am! See you soon x
Hooray!
It’s playgroup day tomorrow!
See you all at 10am!
What toys shall we get out tomorrow? Any requests?
Come and feed the dinosaurs!! They are so hungry for rice crispies!
Playgroup is on tomorrow…the doors will open at 10am! Looking forward to seeing everyone x
Who is joining us for playgroup tomorrow?
I think we will get out the farm, some cars and playdough. Also a craft table and the usual baby area, role play area and soft play zone!
No playgroup tomorrow as the church hall is being used as the local polling station.
We had another lovely session again today and it was nice to welcome two new mummies with their little boys.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for helping with the tidying up at the end, it really is appreciated!
We’re looking forward to another fun morning at playgroup! See you all at 10am!
It was great to see all of our friends this morning and to welcome some lovely new children and their parents. The new toys and activities all went down really well! See you all again next week!
We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning for some playtime and fun! The coffee will be ready and the door will be open from 10.00am!
Reminder:
no playgroup tomorrow due to a funeral taking place.
See you on 11th April!
We are closed for the next two Thursdays due to the Easter Holidays and the funeral of one of our church members. We will be back on Thursday 11th April ☀️
Don’t forget…everyone is very welcome at Messy Church tomorrow! There’s no age limit - it’s for babies, children, adults and beyond! Light lunch included 🍕
We are looking forward to seeing all of you today! Who’s coming to play?
It was lovely to see so many people at playgroup this week, including some new families. Sorry if we didn’t manage to get round to have a chat with everyone, it was very busy and sometimes it’s not possible to sit down for long. We hope to see you all again next week!
We are ready to welcome you all at 10am. Just £3 per family ❤️
We have a collection point at playgroup if anyone wishes to make a donation to the food bank.
Please remember we have moved to a THURSDAY morning now for playgroup. We start again next week on Thursday 11th January and we hope to see you there.
New families are always welcome, there is no need to book. If you have any questions please feel free to message the page.
Don’t forget…this is happening tomorrow morning! Come along and make a Christingle, dress up as a character from the nativity and help us to act it out as we tell the most wonderful story of when Jesus Christ was born. Hot chocolate (or juice) and biscuits too!!
Would anybody like either of our toy kitchens? We have been given a new set for the new year so we need rid of these. Available to collect on Saturday morning between 9.30 and 12.
What a brilliant Glow Party we have had today to finish our playgroup sessions for the year! Many thanks to GW Sports for coming and organising our party - we had 30 very happy and excited small people! We would recommend Gav to everyone for their party needs, the children loved all of the sensory resources and got a lot out of the session!
