S.E.N.S.E.S. in Scarborough

It was lovely to welcome two new families to our busy session today! 😊

Hi everyone!

The summer holidays are fast approaching so we would like to share our summer timetable with you. As you can see, we aim to offer a session most weeks, whether in Eastfield or Scarborough, and you are welcome to attend either setting. The sessions will be for children aged five and under with additional needs, plus their siblings, and the event on Friday 23rd August is open to any of our previous SENSES families to attend as well. We will share more information on this nearer the time.

North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre

We have another fun music therapy session booked for tomorrow with Tom from North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre!

A busy morning of spinning and puzzles!

Please remember that the carpark at Westway Open Arms and Holy Nativity Church, Eastfield, will be closed next week, so you will need to park on the horseshoe or roadside if attending our sessions.

The water play was a lot of fun so we will definitely do it again!

💥There will be no parking in Westway Open Arms and Holy Nativity Church, Eastfield carpark next week for our Monday and Tuesday sessions as work will be taking place to renovate the garden. Please park on the horseshoe near the play area and walk through the archway to access the building.💥

What a lovely outdoor coffee morning we had today.

We are planning to do some water play in the garden tomorrow so bring a change of clothes if you think your child might get involved in this!

The Oasis Family Centre was a lovely, cool place to play on this unexpectedly hot day! Stay safe in the heat everyone 😎

Judging by how far and wide the toys were spread this morning, fun was had in every area of the room! 😁

Our busy band played well this morning, starting off very loudly with enthusiastic drumming! There was a lot of good listening though, and we ended the session with some gentle lullabies. Thank you again Tom from North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre.

We had babies playing with babies, children in cars playing with cars, and much more at SENSES today!

We made a big sun for our display board, in the hope that it will bring us some brighter weather!☀️

Little ones at the coffee morning 🥰

All SENSES groups begin again this week, starting with our coffee morning at Westway Open Arms tomorrow. These run from 9.30-11.30 each Monday during term time, so please pop in if you are free.

If you are looking for some great activities to do with your little ones over the half-term holiday, pop along to one of the soft play sessions. The Parent Pod also run a variety of groups for different ages, so check them out too, and I hope that you can find something to join in with, as well as make some new friends.

We explored some different instruments with Tom from North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre today, and the children suggested the songs to sing.

We have now broken up for the half term holiday, and our sessions begin again with a coffee morning on Monday the 3rd of June at Westway Open Arms from 9.30-11.30am. Have a great week!

North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre

The puzzles were really popular at SENSES today! Everyone had a turn, and there was some lovely cooperative play too 🥰

We had a really fun morning of xylophone playing, basketball, and crafts today!

We've had such a lovely coffee morning today, which also included a bit of crafting!

Our student Holly devised and ran a lovely craft activity this morning. We will make more of these next Friday too as we were short on time today.

We had a lot of fun painting this morning, and also had some willing helpers to clean up afterwards.

Look at the fantastic teamwork and interactions that took place too!

Have a lovely weekend, and remember that there will not be a coffee morning on Monday 6th May due to the bank holiday.

It was so nice to see the sun at last! After playing inside for part of the morning, we then spent some time in the garden. 🌞

We didn't get around to taking any photos at the coffee morning today, so please enjoy the signs of spring from the new leaves on our display board tree instead!

There will not be a coffee morning next Monday as it is May Day, so we will see you back with us on May 13th.
