VAGINISMUS
Positive Psychos*xual Changes with Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness, Yoga, Breathwork and NLP

I recently had a client with the above problem and wanted to write about it to share with anyone else out there that has the same problem.

This issue isn't resolved with a one-size-fits-all solution. It requires a multifaceted approach, employing various tools and techniques. I felt a deep sense of achievement as I worked to treat this individual, utilising my entire skill set to restore harmony to both mind and body.

Here is my blog attached:

World Mental Health Day is a global issue. Too often people with mental health issues go on treated or unnoticed. If you think you know anyone who needs support, offer them that space to talk or get the help they need.

On World Mental Health Day, let’s raise awareness in coming together to promote better mental health for everyone.

Hot triggers

Are you triggered by an unconscious, feelings that you’re not sure where it comes from.

A trigger can be like a switch, whether it’s something that happens around us or inside us, and it sets off a reaction in our body.

Think of ‘hot triggers’ as those moments when we react instantly – like getting really angry, feeling suddenly scared or being overwhelmed by intense emotions. These triggers can be caused by things like how someone talks to use or their actions, and they often come from events that upset our emotional balance. They make us feel like we’ve lost control, leaving us overwhelmed, powerless, scared, unloved or just plain drained. The tough part is that these reactions can harm both us and the people around us.

Dealing with these emotions isn’t always easy and can take a toll on our mental health. But the first step is understanding what’s going on inside us when these hot triggers happen. Often, they’re connected to things that happened in the past and how we’ve learned to respond to them to stay safe. So, in a way, our minds and bodies are doing their best to protect us.

To help you deal with these triggers and stop them in their tracks, I’d like to introduce my ABCDE approach:

A – Recognise the ACTIVATION event. Look and turn inwards to see those thoughts and images that activates that trigger.
B – What are your BELIEF around that situation and circumstances. What are your irrational beliefs.
C – What are your emotional CONSEQUENCES which result in your response. Which result in response to the belief.
D - In order to deal with your irrational beliefs, DISPUTE them. See them as they are.
E – ENERGIES and change the way you identify the outcome. It exposes the behaviour and changes the thought patterns.

Perfectionism, often marked by an unrelenting pursuit of flawlessness and an intense fear of falling short, can have a profound impact on one's well-being. It is often fueled by low self-esteem , a belief that perfectionism, equates to self-worth, or a desire to control outcomes and perceptions. Recognising the signs of perfectionism, which include rigid thinking, competitiveness, sensitivity to feedback, shame or guilt, critical judgments, anger in the face of
imperfection, and high anxiety, is the first step toward addressing it.

There are various strategies to combat perfectionistic thinking, tailored to individual needs:

1. Embrace Self-Compassion: Self-compassion is a powerful countermeasure to
perfectionism. It involves treating oneself with the same kindness and understanding one would offer a close friend. Accepting one's inherent worth, irrespective of perfection, can be liberating.

2. Stay Present: When overwhelmed by anxiety about not meeting perfection, grounding techniques can be invaluable. Deep breathing and the reminder that emotions are fleeting can help you take imperfect but meaningful actions.

3. Embrace Imperfection: Engaging in activities without fixating on perfection can be liberating. Trying activities without striving for excellence, like painting or sports, helps rewire your nervous system to accept imperfection.

4. Cultivate Mindfulness: Mindfulness practices help distance yourself from anxiety inducing tasks and keep you rooted in the present. This enables you to observe thoughts and emotions without becoming entangled in them.

5. Explore Hypnotherapy: Hypnotherapy can uncover the roots of perfectionism through
guided relaxation and suggestion. It exposes the unconscious beliefs that drive the need for flawlessness, fostering a healthier perspective on achievement and self-worth.
Hypnotherapy empowers individuals to let go of anxiety and embrace a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Challenging thoughts can be quite tricky if you are unaware of them and if you don’t know what to do to get a positive outlook instead of a negative one. When you are looking at those thoughts from one perspective, it will always remain unchallenged and therefore a habit of not challenging will continue to continue as a negative thought pattern.

DM me to change your negative thought patterns.

Whenever I see a client about weight problems. There’s a fundamental thing that everyone misses. WATER. Oh my gosh how this one thing can make a difference to the mind and body. Not only does it help you gain mental clarity, but it also helps you to loose weight. Dehydration can make you believe that you are hungry when you are not, because it gives you that same feeling of hunger.

Some people practice going into an unresourceful state before giving a presentation or asking someone out on a date so many times that they automatically feel scared when they come to do it.

They may even think of themselves as that person who is not confident because they have trained themselves this automatic behaviour.

On the flip side, high-achievers are often faced with situations that involve risk and uncertainty, because they have practiced putting themselves into resourceful states. ♥️

The present moment is what we always have. Learning how to live in the moment is a powerful tool to bring the balance, happiness and fulfilment and calm into your life. This called mindfulness, which is just like working your mind out at the gym, instead of your body. It trains the mind to be more present. Just a few minutes every day is a great place to start your wellness journey. There are lots of apps out there. Love your mind and body and get started on your wellness journey.

Tending to yourself is a necessity of survival. We are often taught by society countlessly to struggle, push at it and have a successful life. But not exactly how to maintain our mental and physical state that is so important to our wellbeing and happiness.

As we go through the journey of life. That neglect can have a detrimental effect on how we are coping and experiencing the emotional state of our mind and bodies. Stresses, anxieties, burnout, tiredness and illness are all too common when we don’t tend to ourselves in a nurturing and compassionate way.

Here are some questions below to ask yourself and to guide you to the self care and nourishment that you need.

How can I tend to myself with more compassion.
Am I taking care of my needs and desires?
How can I create more room to just be?
Do I say yes, when I should say no?
How can I love myself more today?
Am I practising self-care enough?

Tending for yourself is nurturing yourself. It makes a big difference to how you think and feel.

-Create some me time.
-Let go of the limitations of the past.
-Indulge in productive routines.
-Declare your worth.
-Learn to choose yourself.
-Trust yourself with more respect
-Set and maintain healthy boundaries.
-Uproot negativity and pave the way for positivity.

A belief is a personal acceptance that something exists or is true. Beliefs don’t require evidence or proof, and they often rely on trust, faith, and having confidence in something or somebody.

Limited beliefs hold us back from doing things because we incorrectly believe that we can’t or shouldn’t do some of the things that we would like to do. They exist in our minds and we simple accept them as rules that we must live by.

13/03/2023

Just by taking small steps to change will move you to an area of recognising the habits and beliefs that hold us back. It all happens with you, so take and make those steps.

Do you struggle with self-worth?
Do you feel like sometimes you just aren’t good enough?
Is your confidence low?
Are you always putting yourself down?

Ever wondered what life would be like if you didn’t suffer from the above.

Here are my top 5 tips:

Be kind to yourself: The simplest yet hardest acts of self love to master. Yet it’s all about giving your permission to be human. You don’t have to be super mum or a fitness model or earn lots of money to be worthy of love.

Change your self-talk: Believes have the power to create and destroy. The way you talk to yourself affects your mood and your behaviour. It’s ok to hold yourself to a high standard and feel negative emotion, but don’t get stuck in a cycle of negative self talk. Make a conscious effort to change your words into something positive.

Meditate: is a great way to change not only your physical state, but your entire mindset. It has also been scientifically proven to change the brain. 10mins a day is a great way to start or finish the day.

Practice self care: Self care and love are not the same, but they do go hand in hand. When you love yourself you treat yourself kindly, both emotionally and physically. Establish habits of self care like eating healthy and exercising can train the brain to think positively. Also surrounding yourself with love and the relationships that you make builds that happiness that you deserve.

Find your purpose: Finding your purpose is the ultimate way to learn how to fall in love with yourself. Purpose gives us reason to get out of bed in the morning and makes us a part of something larger than ourselves. To find purpose you need to honest with yourself. What brings you joy and what excites you about life.

Are you feeling burned out and stressed?
Are you constantly getting I’ll and having to take time off work?
Do you constantly feel like you’re in the race with the rest of the world?
Do you easily feel like you get overwhelmed to keep up and get ahead?
Do you feel you need to work all the time because you need the money or can’t bear to be bored?

If you have answered yes to the above, you are addicted to what I like to call busy-ness. This is an addiction to the buzz you get from the stress chemical that your brain produces, that manifests into guilt if you take time off or fall behind on schedules.

Stress is good in small doses, but when it is in constant use to push the body and mind in override, then this is when it becomes an issue for our health and well being.

It is important to know that our bodies are not built without an off switch and it is vital to recognise that our bodies energy system works best when we listen to the natural biorhythm of when we should take test and recovery, with periods of energy expenditure.

So it is vital to take time out to recognise when the body is slowing down. This is called the ultradian rest phase that occurs in the body through the day. This is the soft feeling of relaxation you get when your mind wonders, because it is in need of a break.

Take advantage to switch off for 5-10 minutes. Breathing into the body and just noticing your breath and movement and flow of breathing. Or you could imagine yourself in a relaxing place. Maybe at the beach or country side, because the nervous system does not differentiate between a real and imagined event. This is how hypnosis works.

You’ll find that with practice and listening ‘IN’ to work with you mind and body, instead of against it. Will give you the burst of energy that you need. Even stronger and more focused than before.
