π What to expect during a Grassroots Education Session?
GR Physio will attend your location during a training session, we will firstly discuss about the subject you have chosen.
For example if you choose ACL we will have a short discussion about the different types of tears of ACL's, what an average ACL rehabilitation journey would look like, we also discuss forms of prevention for example footwear.
We will then make our way to the training pitch where our physio Nikki will get the team to perform a range of injury prevention warm-up exercises that you incorporate in your sessions going forward

What does each grade of tear mean on an ACL?
π Grade 1 - least severe ACL injury. Means you stretched but didn't quite tear, the ACL. The ligament can still keep the knee joint stable.
π Grade 2 - a partial tear. Means you stretched the ACL, making it loose. The ligament can't provide full stability to the joint
π Grade 3 - most severe ACL injury. Means a complete or near complete tear. The ligament has split into two pieces. Grade 3 is the most common type of ACL injury.

We joined Stockport County Ladies u16s β½οΈ for a Grassroots Injury Prevention Session, focusing on ACL
This involved a quick chat on the basics of what an ACL is and process of an ACL injury then onto the field to showcase warm ups to help prevent ACL injuries.

π£ What is GR Physio Workshops all about?
We are GR Physio Workshops based in Manchester as we have struggled to find any other workshops specifically aimed at females πΊ within the sports environment, we have decided to create GR Physio Workshops.
We provide relaxed workshops on ACL, menstrual cycle and concussion in female sport. The aim of our workshops is to provide in laymanβs terms medical knowledge to support females, we invite anyone who is involved in female sport whether it be coaches, managers, first aiders, players and even parents to our workshop.

We have joined forces πͺ with Manchester FA to offer a FREE OF CHARGE CPD for parents, players, coaches & volunteers that would like to develop their knowledge in order to maximise performance in female players β½οΈ
This will be open to all genders πΉπΊ
We will be take you through the menstrual cycle and how you can adapt your training to maximise performance and also discuss the prevalence of ACL injuries in female players πΊ
Our experts will be able to explain how you can use science to maximise your female players performance as well as give you best practice to take back to your clubs
