🧘🏼♀️🧭 Seated Compass Pose // Surya Yantrasana 🧭🧘🏼♀️
Compass pose has many different physical benefits, such as:
✨ Improving the elasticity of the spinal column
✨ Hip opening
✨ Improving flexibility, specifically stretching through the gluteus maximus
✨ Opening the sides of the ribcage to increase chest opening, to help improve the breath
Symbolically, Surya Yantrasana is seen as a posture to guide the yogi home, to deepen their inner spiritual practise ☁️
To progress in this asana, you can move up to standing, using a wall to assist with balance if necessary ☀️
An easier alternative or regressions to compass pose can be keeping the knee at a 90 degree angle, using a strap to assist with gripping the lower leg, placing a block underneath the glute, or lying down practising to open up through the hips by bringing the leg out to the side 👏🏻
💭🌎 How can you step out of your comfort zone? 🌎💭
Solo travelling to South East Asia was the most life changing experience. I know it’s cliche when people say solo travelling helped them to “find themselves”, but I couldn’t agree with that statement more. I was so worried about the what-ifs before I left, but now I would do it again in a heartbeat! ✨
Embarking on my Yoga teacher training whilst being completely immersed in a brand new culture was daunting yet rewarding. I was in a place with no distractions and I could focus on becoming the best person and yoga teacher I could possibly be 🧘🏼♀️
I arrived back home with a new found confidence that I could only have dreamt of before I left! I can’t wait to see what the next adventure brings… 🤲🏻

I find to-do lists to be a lifesaver! Every Sunday, I plan out my week and what I need/want to accomplish each day. Ticking each thing off one by one really gives me that sense of accomplishment 💪🏼

🍫 1 scoop of choc protein powder

💧50ml water (I just eyeball it 🫣)

Another fabulous Thursday evening with my Fitsteppers and Yogis! 💃🏼🧘🏼♀️ You all did amazing, can’t wait to see you again next week. In this weeks yoga class we focused on the basic fundamentals of seated compass pose. Can’t wait to see you all improve each week 🔥
What a fabulous first Fitsteps & Yoga we have had! 💃🏼🧘🏼♀️ My Thursday night gang are absolutely amazing, and so committed to improving their fitness as well as having heaps of fun!
Tonight I had the pleasure of building up a sweat in Fitsteps and then flowing together in Yoga with 12 strong and powerful women 🔥💪🏼
My Fitsteppers got their hips going and strutted their stuff, and my yogis really focused on breathing and appreciating what the body can do 💃🏼🧘🏼♀️

Yoga with Molly is a vinyasa based class with an emphasis on acknowledging the journey you are taking your body through. There will be a focus on breath work and how the flow meets each inhale and exhale. Each class will start with gentle joint mobility, and then flow into each posture individually. The class will end with a mindfulness meditation to give the body time to completely relax and reflect on the practise it has just been taken through. 🧘🏼♀️🧘🏻♂️🌏
