Happy Birthday to Carla 🎈

Project manager and first point of call for most of our clients. Carla is one of the best things to have come into my life in the last 4 years and I am proud to call her one of my best friends. Not only does she have an impeccable eye for interiors (and fashion), she is caring, original, super intuitive, very witty and one of the best listeners on the planet. Carla also happens to be one of the funniest people i know and will often reduce me to tears…in a good way!

Thank you to and the team .pantiles for making this yet another delicious experience. It really is the best Indian food I have eaten outside of India. The interiors are on point with deep, seductive, jewel-like colours, an array of beautiful lights and an eclectic mix of framed artwork which adds interest and depth. The service is always impeccable as well.

Looks like we both got the dress code memo about one of my favourite colour combos too 😘❤️🖤

A whole year since we did this shoot and it seems the perfect way to mark one of my favourite nights of the year (other than Halloween) - Fireworks night ✨🌈

Around the time we took these shots a year ago, I made a few wishes…I spoke about never having seen the Northern Lights and really wanting to see them and that came true this year! On the beach in the UK! One special evening I even saw a rainbow cloud in the sky (scroll to see…)

This year I’ve experienced so much beauty and joy in the little things…Despite the destruction in the world, it’s these little things that have given me a reason to smile from the inside out from the moment I open my eyes. I am very grateful for all those unforgettable little stories and people in my day.

Sending so much love and strength to one of my closest most loved friends today who is one of the kindest and bravest people I know. Earlier this year we saw a white deer together…but as with many of the best moments in life…there is no photographic evidence of that ♥️

I am seriously crushing on those delicious blush pink accents. Hoping to get some more photos when I visit later in the year.

We always get asked whether all our lights are on our website. The answer is no. We have over 4000 lights in our catalogue (probably more in my head)
including a little black book of makers of bespoke lighting and antique dealers.

Another beautiful night of wetting this project’s head
This time twinning with the criss cross lights…

Although the real magic happened on my drive home…when I got in I had lots of messages from Stef urging me to go outside… Swipe to see what I saw in the skies through the clouds over the sea …A hint of Aurora Borealis lights- finally!!! AND they were pink ones! 💕 I have searched for these all over the world…they may not have been the brightest but they were over the sea, among the stars and clouds , looking like a watercolour painting- perfect for me. How fitting that I should see them yesterday.

I’ll remember it forever now.

Cosy lumière lights making the colder nights feel all a bit warmer with their glow.

Yesterday I realised that this time last year I was in Nottingham for the opening of the 20th showroom - one of 12 showrooms showcasing our lights within their beautiful kitchen and bedroom displays.

Behind the scenes, we are always working on one of Tom’s projects and I was excited to see some of the renovations happening at the Wigmore Street showroom when I was in London last week (swipe to see).

For anyone still looking to update some of their lights before “that big day in December” do get in touch. Tricky spaces are my love language.

We have some in-person consultations available for clients in and around London, Tunbridge Wells, Brighton and Littlehampton. For anyone further afield, virtual consultations via video call are a strong alternative for clients still needing an appointment this year.

Thank you to Jess for inviting me to attend her property themed business networking event. Jess was my yoga teacher during my unforgettable secret escape to the Kent coast over the summer and little did I know about the brilliant networking business she also runs .businessnetworking

Last night I met industry experts in the world of architecture , interior design, property investment, kitchen design and many more...I loved hearing a talk by architects .

A highlight for me was hearing Alex talk. Alex had a very turbulent start to life but is now a successful entrepreneur in the world of property and Krypto investment. He has even written a book. When Alex said “I often find I am most driven and motivated when I have my back up against a wall”, my ears pricked up - it resonated heavily.

When Jess gave her speech and mentioned wanting to do some podcasts with certain people in the room, I’m pretty certain she locked eyes with me soooo watch this space...

Always at my happiest up a ladder somewhere… ripping old lights out and seeing my beautiful ones going in ✨

As I opened my eyes at 5am to the sound of my alarm, my eyes devoured sexy views of angry seas and moody skies. The perfect start to a day of feeding my creative passions ❤️‍🔥

I cannot wait for the lights in this big and beautiful space to be revealed on opening night.

The most obvious…safe…expected choice for the bar would have been a number of standard pendants, equally spaced out, across the surface of the beautiful bar top…But I don’t do obvious. Or safe. Or status quo. Or vanilla. I like to add a bit of fire and spice ❤️‍🔥 And if any venue can take it, can.

Watch this space…Cannot wait to get all dressed up for the grand opening next week and order an old fashioned at the bar with those lights ✨

So…who has already posted a photo for our competition to win a Kate Spade NY ♠️ lamp in cherry red 💡🍒? Only a week to go until the competition closes - the more original the better

A couple of things you may not know about me…as well as having a passion for writing, my body is also a canvas of beautiful and delicate little tattoos created all over the world and each has a special meaning. Once in a while I get an idea for a design, and I add it to the collection to tell another part of my story that I hold close to my heart.

This was my first time visiting in Tunbridge Wells and I highly recommend getting inked there. I went specifically to see my old friend .katy.does but the entire strong girl gang were a pleasure to be around. Such a clean and pretty tattoo studio (that lavender haze as you walk in 💜) and definitely a far cry from the studio I went to on the last day of my solo trip to Bali last year…remember? The one with the machine gun in the corner of the room?…Maybe one for stories later…

I love my new tattoos and it’s so nice having a constant reminder on my skin of something that makes me smile and has a special meaning for me. It’s like my little morning greeting each day that makes my heart race when I’m reminded of that memory every day.

A very exciting installation week this week at one of our commercial projects…stay tuned 💡 💫✨

A very exciting announcement is loading and I’m bursting to tell you what it is…

In the meantime, let’s admire our breathtaking hand rubbed brass linear pendant, perfectly poised in the showroom in Tunbridge Wells. A solid precious metal body, hand finished to perfection ✨ This is just one of 12 showroom we currently have our lights displayed. But watch this space…

During a kitchen lighting consultation, I always suggest that if an island can take it, clients may want to move away from the traditional idea of multiple pendants and have one large statement piece instead. A linear style as seen here is not only a pretty face, it is functional too- spreading light evenly as you chop and cook during those dark autumnal evenings.

That black bespoke cabinetry with pink ribbed backing does something to my brain... When it comes to kitchen styles, it’s definitely dark and sultry for me. The kitchen I designed for my last home was inspired by one of my favourite London hotels; enveloped in black bespoke cabinetry, moody viola marble, smoked mirrors, and polished black granite. And if I wanted to add a pop of colour to keep the black company, pink is always the perfect sexy pairing 💓🖤

I’m heading to London with friends later and I’ll be eating somewhere I’ve not yet tried. I really hope it lives up to the hype and does not disappoint.

Wonderful event last night for the Royal Tunbridge Wells Media Group, owned by . The bar team make a mean Old Fashioned and it was great speaking to so many entrepreneurs from the media world.

I hope to see some of you again at the grand opening of the members club…

Next time I’m standing in that spot, we should have something exciting to share…

“ I heard the clippety cloppety of heels and I knew it could only be you arriving”, Eileen said beaming as we hugged ❤️

And so we meet again Eileen! But this time to discuss your exciting work at the shiny new business magazine

Eileen and I first met during the pandemic when she was the editor of what was then and . We were both single handedly running busy businesses during lockdowns. Through this mutual goal of ensuring our businesses survived such unprecedented times,
we became hugely inspired by each other’s passion and drive. This created a deep respect and support for each other over the last 4 years.

You’ll have to wait a tiny bit longer to find out exactly what Eileen, Carla and I discussed while inhaling the fresh lavender and sipping on delicious drinks (one of lumière’s current projects).

Needless to say, given how successful and were when Eileen was at the editorial reins, I have no doubt that will continue to fly off the news stands doted around the town.

I love that many of you sent photos and messages of excitement after spotting our advert. Thank you ♥️

This photo was taken last week on the day the issue hit the shelves and we all ran around in the torrential rain trying to locate a copy.

That same day, we had a delicious dinner to celebrate Carla’s birthday and we raised a glass of something with warmth and spice to celebrate lumière- this independent business that we feel very proud of.

Storming rainbows 🌈

After the storm there will be sunshine and rainbows ✨

Thank you for your orders of our last ever rainbow lights; mouth blown in Syria in one of the last active glass manufacturers in Damascus.

We have a few lamps left if you are looking for something very special and unique to place under the tree for the jewel in your life ♥️

These are supplied as lamps with a gorgeous twisted h**p cord, a switch and a CE certified UK plug.

The lamps can also be used as ceiling pendants (if hung from their hook on a strong chain) and wall lights (swipe to see).

Thank you to Julia, owner of the beautiful , for permitting us to visit. I attended classes here for 5 years and my yoga practice found new heights of magic in this space with its very own brook.

There is nothing quite like experiencing storm Ciaran from a house on the beach to fully understand the force and power of Mother Nature.
