Hey beautiful human, here’s a few affirmations for healing internalised queerphobia as an LGBTQIA+ person, whether that be homophobia, lesbiphobia, biphobia, panphobia, transphobia, non-binaryphobia, interphobia, polyfobia, acephobia or any other phobia related to your s*xuality and how you identify and express your gender. ⁣🌈

I recommend saying these affirmations out loud these whilst looking at yourself in the mirror to to rewire your subconscious mind and body.

It’s even better if you speak them out loud when you’re in a state where you are experiencing strong positive feelings, emotions and sensations to help your subconscious to be the most receptive to accepting these affirmations and to rewiring into your subconscious and unconscious mind and body. ✨

You can even rewire your subconscious by saying these affirmations out loud whilst giving yourself some loving touch, whilst using a glass/ crystal egg or during self pleasure when you’re connected to yourself and your body and you’re feeling all the good feels and all the dopamine, oxytocin, endorphins are flowing. That’s right, there’s science to s.x magic 🪄

Self pleasure also helps to stimulate and tone your vagus nerve, activating the parasympathetic nervous system/ rest and digest state, helping you to create that feeling of safety and calm in your body in fully receiving these affirmations and creating new beliefs. The more toned your vagus nerve is the quicker you’ll be able to recover from stress and stressors related to being LGBTQIA+, including prejudice, discrimination and micro-aggressions.

You can also say these affirmations during breath-work and self-hypnosis, where you’re in a trance like state and have direct access to, and can therefore most easily rewire your subconscious and unconscious mind and body.

Hello beautiful people,

It’s been a while since I introduced myself on here, swipe across for my full reintroduction or read on below…

I’m Isla, I’m a multi-certified, integrative and trauma-informed Holistic Healing Facilitator, Breath-work Practitioner, Hypnotherapist, Sexuality + Intimacy Coach, LGBTQ+ Mentor & Founder of Breathnosis®.

I hold space for sensitive, passionate and ambitious people to feel more connected to and at home in themselves, in their bodies and in their authentic s*xuality, so that they can feel more peace, self-worth, pleasure, connection and meaning in their lives, relationships and businesses.

I am a geek at heart and love continuing to learn more about psychology, neuro-science and s*xology, especially about the mind and body connection. I also adore leaning into the more mystical side of things and all things herbs, essential oils, energy healing, flower essences and crystals. My values are kindness, peace, connection, equality and integrity.

My previous career was in the legal industry, in which I worked as a paralegal and adviser for various human rights investigations, organisations and charities for several years. I also had a stint working for a corporate law firm as a regulatory paralegal before I decided to turn down a scholarship to train as a barrister and retrain to pursue my passion in holistic well-being. For a while I also did a bit of freelance trade-mark and business consultancy.

Although I enjoyed aspects of working in law, such as advocating for causes I am passionate about, I had my doubts over the years as to whether the realities of working in the industry was what I wanted for myself. This was especially after experiencing a few bouts of burnout and what I now know was C-PTSD, some of which related to work related vicarious trauma and being neuro-divergent in a very rigid and archaic industry which doesn't encourage people to talk about their mental and emotional health and well-being.

I live with my partner Ab in Oxford, and we’ve been together for just over 7 years. I came out as Bis*xual to my family and friends just before we started dating. Prior to then I had only dated men, but I had questioned my s*xuality ,kissed women and had several “girl crushes” prior to that, including Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Scarlett Johansson and Emma Watson to name a few… When I met Ab I was instantly very attracted to her, which confirmed to me that I couldn’t ignore and push that part of me to the side anymore.

I am a massive animal lover- to the extent that it’s a non-negotiable that I have a pet of some kind in the not too distant future. In the meantime, I love visiting the horses, foals and cows nearby. (check out my highlights)

Those of you who have been here a while may know my very timid tortie Delilah who lives with my Mum, along with our gorgeous guinea pigs Demelza (baby spice), Dedee (ginger spice) and our most recent addition to the family Bambi (sporty spice), as well as Smudge- the cute shetland pony that we go and visit on our walks.

I take a very holistic and bespoke approach with clients and integrate a unique combination of healing & coaching modalities working with the conscious, subconscious and unconscious mind and body depending on on your unique history, health, preferences and desires for our work together.

These include hypnotherapy, rebirthing breath-work, conscious-connected breath-work, breath-work relaxation techniques, transformational coaching, existential coaching, s*x, love and relationship coaching, mindfulness coaching, meditation, somatic healing, inherited family trauma work, ta***ic embodiment practices, EFT, mentoring, as well as own trauma-informed healing modality Breathnosis®.

I developed it through my experience of working with private clients, as well as my study of various healing modalities and disciplines over 3.5 years and under supervision of Amanda Joy, Director of The Northern College of Clinical Hypnotherapy.

She’ll be sharing her story of demystifying fertility, the affects of our modern lifestyle, and why she’s so passionate about supporting women to get pregnant using a holistic approach through bringing their mind and body back into alignment. Lynda will also be discussing how our fertility can be linked to our overall health and why it’s important to be conscious of even if you aren’t planning to have children.

None of us are immune from this. ⠀⠀

Last summer I was burning out and poor mental health crept up on me. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Old habits and patterns found a sneaky way of repeating, just in a new form. Now instead of spending all my emotional and physical energy in my legal job in the city, I was doing it in my business. Trying to do everything I could , with the tools and knowledge I know had, to help others. ⠀

Although I was still doing the healing work myself, I found myself exhausted because I wasn’t creating enough space. ⠀
⠀⠀
The past year has been tough on all of us. We all have different coping mechanisms and emotional reactions in times of distress. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Over the years, one of mine has been to completely immerse myself in my work... ⠀
⠀⠀
I love what I do and always love learning more, and at the beginning as an introvert (and nerd) I was in my element. As time went on though, something bigger was going on for me internally.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
The whole set up of lockdown reminded me of how I used to lock myself away for months during exams and law school and put me in that state of fight and flight. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
It was also a distraction from having to feel disappointment at plans being cancelled, sadness of not knowing when I was going to see Ab and other loved ones again. Over time I felt a numbness, a sadness and a loneliness.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
I took a big step back and looked at the way I was approaching my business. For a while, I was operating as extrovert while I’m an extroverted introvert. I wasn’t giving myself enough SPACE for myself, for the things that give me joy and pleasure and for my own healing practices. And for truly nurturing the deep connections with the people I love.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Although it wasn’t pretty at the time- it’s actually been a beautiful lesson. A new level of understanding myself. Another layer of healing. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
It meant that now I have slow mornings - unapologetically. I’ll never be in the 5am club and I’m more than at peace with that. I wouldn’t trade slow, intentional and pleasure filled mornings in. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Devotion to my well-being, self care and healing practices for me looks like taking ownership over my time and giving myself the permission to go slow and take breaks when needed.

I’m not going to hold back from sharing how beautiful it can be, even when times are tough. ❤️

There’s a part of me that sometimes wonders if I should hold back from sharing my happy relationship online. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
There’s a part of me that sometimes worries it’s insensitive to those who are single and who feel lonely, especially during times like this when it’s hard to date. If that’s you, sending you love. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Not to mention a lot of peoples’ relationships have been put under enormous strain due to this time. Whether you’re together and are arguing, or you’re apart and one or both of you is feeling anxious and disconnection from one another, it’s not easy. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Also, it’s not as if we’ve found Lockdown apart easy. We spent 5 months apart during the first one and haven’t seen each other since October. During the first lockdown, my coping mechanism was to distract myself with work so I didn’t have to think about not knowing when we were next going to see each other. I wasn’t as present. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
We found ourselves operating on different schedules and missing opportunities to speak to eachother. We had some difficult conversations which ultimately brought us closer together. We learned to communicate more and to give and receive love the way the other person needs and desires the most. It’s not all roses being apart, but our emotional connection is stronger, even if we’re hundreds of miles apart. Our relationship is stronger than ever.
⠀⠀
✨It still gets to be magical even when you’re miles apart or when you’ve been isolated together in such a difficult situation. You can still have intimate moments and feel deep connection. Sometimes it can even accelerate your growth as a couple. The key 🔑 is open and authentic communication and seeking to understand the other person rather than seeking to be understood. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
✨For those of you who are single, give yourself the gift of REALLY getting to know yourself on a deeper level. Get intimate with what you desire in a relationship. It’s a time to prioritise your own healing and give yourself all the self-love. Your relationship with yourself lays the foundation for all.
