We've now added an Icebreaker day for boys starting TWGSB (Tunbridge Wells campus) on Tuesday 27th August.

The days are aimed at helping settle nerves before starting at secondary school - where we can we group children with others in their class. We spend the morning running icebreaker activities and name games, and the afternoon they take part in a personal challenge like rock climbing or a ropes course.

This will be the third year we've run these days and we've had some really nice feedback about how they help reduce anxiety and held kids to know some faces on the first few days at their new school.

We've already got about 250 children coming to Icebreakers for Beacon Academy, Judd, Bennett, TWGGS and TGS.

Tuesday 9 April - afternoon beginners course for 6-8s

Wednesday 10 April - afternoon beginners course for 6-8s

Thursday 11 April - all day development course for kids who can already ski (completed a day course, or had a private lesson, for example).

Ski Instructor courses at Bowles this year

Bowles is delighted to be working with East Sussex County Council again this year - we'll be running Holiday Activities and Food in the Easter and Summer school holidays for kids in receipt of free school meals.

This is the programme for Easter:
Tuesday 2 April - Rock Climbing and Archery
Wednesday 3 April - Bushcraft and Low Ropes Course
Thursday 4 April - Skiing and Jacobs Ladder (a high ropes course)
Friday 5 April - Kayaking in an indoor pool and Leap of Faith (a high ropes course)

For the last two summers we've run Icebreaker Days for local kids starting at secondary school.
Hundreds of kids have come along to meet new classmates and we've had some really nice feedback about how we've reduced anxiety and boosted confidence in the run up to starting a new school.
The days are not organised by schools, so we only run days when they've been requested by parents.

Our Easter school holiday skiing courses are now online and available to book.
Ideal if you're going on an end-of -season trip, or want to get ahead for next winter, or even if your kids want to learn a new skill in the fresh air.
For beginners, we have all-day courses for 8-15s and half dayers for 6-8 year olds.

We also have development days towards the end of the holidays for kids who want to progress the skills they've picked up on a beginners' course.

Skiing at Easter?

We have skiing private lessons available if you're heading to the mountains for the first time and want to make sure you know all the basic skills on your first day.

Bowles has two dry ski slopes, both equipped with lifts and lubrication systems.

Learning how to use the lift and control your speed and direction will mean that when you arrive in your resort you'll be able to head straight to the beginner slopes, and the chances are by the end of your holiday you'll be able to see more of the mountains and get better value out of your lift pass.
