It’s taken me years to accept parts of myself, and it’s been a labor of love. If I’m rushed into seeing, I can’t easily see. If I’m pushed into feeling, I cannot feel. If the light is too bright, I risk going blind. If the time isn't right, I might not ever learn.

Now I celebrate my growth, I embrace my emotional experiences, and I appreciate all my senses, even when I’m unable to see. For me, Acceptance became a special understanding for what isn’t possible and offering love before extending my heart to what is truly attainable.

Acceptance isn't asking us to submit to a substandard way of being, rather invites us to appreciate our limitations with authenticity. Not by acting out in self-effacing ways because somewhere in our past, someone made us feel small.

Acceptance isn't saying you have to stay where you are and never grow, but offering you extra protection and grace so when you're ready to develop, you feel supported.

Acceptance is approving of your humanness and how far you can go, and is wise in its knowing. It understands everyone is going to have a personal experience based on their internal and external conditions.

Acceptance is wanting to pick you up and rock you soothingly and whisper, it's okay—you're trying and that is more than enough. There is a place for you…

You don’t have to exhaust your soul trying to avoid every single suffering. You don’t have to outrun every pain that comes from not doing or being what’s always expected. You can wrap yourself in a Welcome Home. You can give your heart a break.
