It's not always easy for a 11 year old navigating the world.
Neurodivergent or not
We all deal with internal battles
The outside world is not aware of.
"You look as if you have it all... "
Someone told me last year.
What you don't see behind the picture is
The daily work that goes in to making it from one day to another.
The lack of barrcode saved me from an impulsive purchase today, and had to leave a beautiful water bottle at the self check out till....
(yes, another one, because maybe a new bottle will help me increase daily water intake)....
(It probably would, for a day or two) ....
(And it looks pretty, and will fit with the other glass items)...
(Do I really need it though?).....
That was a tipping point, which when crossed could create a future feeling of regret.
Was it just luck?
The fact the bottle didn't have a barrcode sticker on?
Or was is an unconcious decision,
made at the point of chosing the bottle?
If only you could imagine what it's like inside my brain...
Visuals help me think and organise and see what I need to do next...

I was wrong
And asked my son to cross the road with me in a potentially unsafe place.
He knew I was wrong
He told me I was wrong for making him do it.
Valuable lesson for my son today:
only because the people you love tell you to do something wrong, doesn't mean you have to do it!
Always chose what feels like the right thing to do.
I have observed that people have different ways of expressing their feelings and emotions.
For example:
❤️ When a little boy leaves the last piece of chocolate for his mother.
❤️ Or a friend who asks you how your doctor's appointment went.
❤️ Or a family member who brings you a souvenir from vacation.
🤔 It can also be stomping your feet on the floor
🤔 Or refusal to participate in an activity.
In the world called neurodiverse... it is not always easy to describe feelings and emotions.
So let's observe the details, behind the words which are not being said out loud.
