Wareham Town Crest is decorated with a crescent, star and inverted Fleur de Lys. The Star and Crescent are thought to represent the Stoke family and their involvement in the crusades. The inverted Fleur de Lys has an interesting legend. Apparently King John visited Wareham and found no welcoming ceremony. He was so angry he forced the town to invert the Fluer de Lys! (you can see the town crest outside the museum near the town hall).

Mast Cottage is a comfortable 4 bedroom, three-storey holiday cottage in the heart of the historic town of Wareham, close to The Church of Lady St Mary Wareham and just yards from the Quay. Superbly located as a base to explore the beautiful coastline of the Isle of Purbeck and Jurassic Coast with their breath-taking walks and stunning views. In addition to all this you are just six miles from the sandy beach at Studland and very close to many family attractions. Well behaved dogs are welcome.

A few yards from the cottage you will find The Quay and many independent restaurants, bars, cafes and shops and also a couple of larger supermarkets.

Wareham offers many family style events and is perfectly placed for discovering the Purbeck coastline and dramatic seascapes of the Jurassic Coast.

The stairs open out directly into the light and airy single bedroom. Storage in this ‘through bedroom’ consists of a medium chest of drawers and a bedside cabinet with a door leading to the twin room.

The twin room is charming and full of character whilst still retaining the cottage charm. There are large and medium chests of drawers for all your storage requirements as well as a vanity unit with mirror above and wooden towel rail.

The Blue Pool is a unique attraction in the Isle of Purbeck.

A chance to escape the outside world and enjoy walks around a magical Pool famous for its ever changing colours. Very fine clay in suspension in the water diffracts light in different ways, producing a spectrum of colour - sometimes green, sometimes turquoise.

Sandy paths lead up steps to views of the Purbeck Hills or down steps to the waters edge.

The Blue Pool is also home to the Wareham Bears and has a Giftshop, Museum and Plant Centre.

The Tea House offers morning coffee, delicious lunches and cream teas with homemade scones.

The beautiful white pebble beach of Lulworth Cove, with its blue waters and easy access make it a popular destination. Low tide reveals wonderful rock pools teeming with sea creatures. Dogs are permitted on the left hand side of the slipway.

Well, that's the outside done! The inside is also undergoing a full renovation and will be ready for guests from the 3rd February 2018.
