We have recently turned a once-overgrown, sloping garden into a beautiful, family-friendly space with three distinct levels. In the corner of the garden is a chic entertaining area with porcelain paving and a pergola. This area now has a spacious, flat lawn perfect for playing and relaxing. Archways and slat fencing highlight a 150-year-old wall. The lowest tier is now a fun safe zone for children to play. Brick raised beds around the garden make for easy gardening with a mix of shrubs and shady loving plants to complement the space.

We recently revisited a garden we landscaped 18 months ago, Batello Garden Design transformed this garden from a small sloping lawn to beautiful low-maintenance outdoor space. The project included the installation of porcelain paving, porcelain cladding, a timber pergola and an artificial lawn. The planting scheme was simple yet effective, focusing mainly on five plant species repeated throughout the garden. We’re pleased that the garden not only looks mature but continues to thrive and delight the clients long-term.

This garden was a new build with no character. We were asked to bring lots of interest and lots of plants to this space. The customers wanted to create a curvy wildlife friendly natural garden to complement their home. We also created a Japanese inspired garden to the side of their home. We used Lucca clay paver from London stone contrast with grey porcelain paving slabs. In the main garden we used Chelmer Valley cottage bricks to create raised beds, pathways and lawn edging. Two new paved seating areas are positions to face the morning sun and evening sun and are made using a mix of Raj and Camel sandstone.

A big transformation on this garden. The tired block paving was replaced with a curvy porcelain patio, with a tricky brick detail for good measure! The whole garden has been given a modern rustic feel. Great team effort.

We had such a great time designing and building this project for our client. Its not easy creating curves in Porcelain. Well done Pete and the team.

A small garden project we completed in under two weeks. A simple project using porcelain paving, slat fencing and a new lawn.

Another transformation from warmer sunnier days last year.

Its been a while since we've posted. We've been busy during the winter months but without the planting we're not ready to show these yet. So instead, here's one we completed last year.

This garden was in need of a makeover as it had not been improved in many years. The customers wanted to create a cottage style garden to complement their home . We used Chelmer Valley cottage bricks to create raised beds, walls and step risers and several paved areas using a mix of Raj and Camel sandstone.

This family garden was sitiuated on a new build estate which presented us with a blank canvas to work with. We built mild steal tiered raised beds, block rendered raised beds and several Porcelain paved areas. The owner wanted instant privacy and so we planted some large evergreen and deciduous trees. We also changed the angle of the garden to 45 degrees for a striking effect.

This coastal garden was completed in early spring and we waited to photograph so that the plants looked more established.

The client is very pleased with the finished garden and even had some custom made cushions to sit on their composite bench.
The main features in this garden are Ecospace charcoal decking, Chelmer valley cottage style cotswold brick, Kandla Grey porcelain paving, an artificial lawn and screen with envy panels.

Another recent transformation of ours. This sunken garden garden just goes to show what can be achieved in a small neglected area of your garden. This is now a perfect social area in what was once an unused space. Panther sandstone paving acts as both steps and seating. Oak sleepers have been used for the raised beds and western red cedar for the slatted screens and archway.

Let’s take a look at one we completed several months back. The main feature being the slate wall water feature. Not only are water features a beautiful addition to your garden, they're also very relaxing.
Tracks silver 1.2m x 0.6m porcelain paving has been used throughout with a bespoke western red cedar pergola framing the seating area.
Block and render walls with raised planters create a divide from the paving to the lawn.

This garden features fossil buff Indian sandstone, with sandstone setts framing the lawn. A curved oak sleeper ‘ribbon wall’ has been installed that runs the length of the garden. There is also a newly erected summer house which we have framed with premier grey deep grain composite decking.

What a transformation! We completed this project, designed by the talented earlier in the year. This steep sloped site provided lots of challenges, especially carrying out work during a wet winter.
There is a lovely choice of materials in this design, from the Marshalls Fairstone Sawn Versuro paving in autumn bronze, to the tumbled sandstone walling. The seating area uses a bullnose coping as do the step treads.
A standout feature of this garden has to be the bespoke western red cedar pergola with a stainless steel cable system. A rainbow bowl water feature has also been installed nestled amongst the planting.

2021 has been a year for porcelain paving. This recent garden build over in Nailsea is no different. 60x60cm Tracks Dark porcelain paving has been used throughout creating several entertaining areas, porcelain planks have also been used creating a path from the lawn to what will be the main seating/fire pit corner. This project is going to be planted by the client and the design will then come together especially once established.

What a transformation! This tired run down garden has been given a full makeover. The main feature is a bespoke gazebo clad in Siberian larch. Complete with electric this room is perfect for entertaining or even as an outdoor office space in summer. The 100x50cm Ragno slate eggshell porcelain paving looks stunning against the mosaic tiles which add a pop of colour and style. Tiles are from . The outdoor kitchen is made from block and render with a porcelain worktop, with a stainless steel trough in the bar area. This can be used for either herbs or an ice tray ready for the beers. Oak sleepers have been used for the raised beds and to frame the lawn, these are already silvering nicely. This is one of our favourite projects.

We love projects that involve water features. This contemporary LED lit water blade with slate walling from our latest project was a joy to build for our clients over in Chew Magna. More images of the completed project coming soon.
