OPEN TONIGHT GUYS!!

We just wanted to give you all a little update.
As a lot of you already know, unfortunately Al suffered a heart attack last Monday. We want to take this opportunity to thank the amazing staff at James Cook University Hospital, the paramedics and Als sister Karina. Without them it’s certain the outcome would have ended differently.

We are so relieved to say Al is now at home recovering. It’s going to be a slow road ahead so we have taken the decision to close Al Taco from tonight. We will be closed for at least 2 weeks then we will review this in due course.

We want to thank everyone for your kind words and well wishes and if do you want your mexican fix, come and see us tonight! ♥️

Wow!! The original post which unfortunately showed two customers and their children leaving Al Taco after refusing to pay for their finished meals has been shared a whopping ten thousand times! 😲 And although we are deeply upset by what happened we have been blown away by your kind words and support. We want to thank everyone for their love and support and we feel so proud to live in a small town that stand by each other.

We are open this weekend for the Whitby Regatta and we can’t wait to serve up all those Mexican faves!!

Wow! What a 7 years it has been. Like every independent business we have had some wonderful highs and some very tough lows but we did not give up. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank every customer for your continued support over the years! Here’s to us! We did it! ♥️

Al Taco will then be closed From Friday 21st June until Tuesday 25th as we are delighted to be travelling to the Isle Of Wight Festival where we will watch local Whitby band SUNBEAM perform!

SUNBEAM hold a special place in our heart, not only because the front man James is Al’s son but because these guys are amazingly talented and they all work extremely hard!
We’ve been delighted to have the boys sing in our restaurant, we follow them to every gig, how could we not follow them to the ferry?! ⛴️
