Dave Milborrow, Branch Development Manager for Wales, is set to embark on his biggest running challenge yet, all to raise money to help cats and kittens cared for by us.

He will cover 536 miles, and be passing by our centre in Wrexham tomorrow, the 1st of September, at approximately 12:00- Please come down to the centre to help cheer him on!

He's hoping to raise £5,000 to be split equally between the six branches he supports – Aberystwyth; Newtown & District; Gwent; Cardiff & the Vale; Abertawe and Carmarthenshire.

If you would like to help donate to this total, please follow the link below to Dave's Just Giving Page.

Our little 1 year old Briar is having a tough time at the centre. He wants nothing more than lots of space to play and run around, so the centre life isn't meeting his standards.

Briar is an energetic and playful boy, who is a big fan of feather toys. He's a little overstimulated in care at the moment, which is leading to some inappropriate behaviour (he likes to aim his play at our feet), but we often see that these sorts of behaviours reduce quite a lot when they go home as a one on one environment, more space and more to do helps cats feel more comfortable.

Due to his current behaviour, we think Briar would be better suited to a home without children. He's also not a fan of other cats, so we think being an only pet would be ideal.

If you're interested in Briar, feel free to pop to the centre at any point during our open hours of 11:00 until 2:30, any day except Tuesday.
Please bring along proof of address, or proof of your landlords permission to own a cat if you rent.

8 year old Zinnia is clearly really enjoying herself in care, but we would love for her to go home so that she can enjoy some one on one cuddles. 😻

Zinnia is a very friendly girl, who has been enjoying really pushing her head into hands for fusses. She melts for a good cheek tickle! Her excitement for cuddles can lead her to get a little full on, on occasion, so we think a home without particularly young children would be ideal.

We're also not sure how she would be with other cats or dogs, due to a lack of history. But we would be willing to offer her a scent cloth to see how she reacts to it.

If you're interested in the gorgeous Zinnia, feel free to pop to the centre at any point during our open hours of 11:00 until 2:30, any day except Tuesday.
Please bring along proof of your address or proof of your landlords permission to own a cat.
Please also bring along scent cloths of your other pets if you have any

*THIS CAT IS AT THE WALES CAT CENTRE (Bridgend)*

Baby has been in Wales Cat Centre care for over 6 months and is their longest staying cat! She is looking for an outdoor home where she can still interact with people on her terms.

Baby is a 7-year-old neutered female, she was admitted into care because she wasn’t settled with the children in the home, she needed her eye removed due to a painful eye condition but is fully recovered. Baby didn’t settle well in the centre environment, and because of this, she was fostered by a volunteer fosterer. After a few weeks, it became apparent that Baby was more suited to outdoor life.

Baby likes her own space, she needs a home where she can have human contact when she wants it, enjoy the great outdoors, and perhaps do some mousing work; a farm or stable yard would be perfect for her. As she has white ears, she will need sun cream lotion applied to her ears during sunny weather.

Baby isn’t suited to a home with children or other cats.

To apply to adopt Baby please visit https://www.cats.org.uk/bridgend -15521 or email [email protected]

*CLIVE IS NOW RESERVED*
Meet 15 year old Clive, who came to us after his owner unfortunately passed away.

Due to Clive's situation, we don't know an awful lot about his past, but we do know that he came from a quiet household. He's a very lovely boy though, so we would be happy to offer him scent cloths of calmer natured pets to see what he thinks, and we wouldn't be opposed to him meeting children. 😺

Being a long haired boy, he'll need regular grooming to help prevent matts, but he doesn't seem to mind this so it should be quite an enjoyable experience for both of you.

If you're interested in Clive, feel free to pop to the centre at any point between our open hours of 11:00 until 2:30, any day except Tuesday, and you can meet him!
Please bring along proof of your address or proof of your landlords permission to own a cat, and scent cloths of any other cats and dogs you own.

Take a look are our darling Tilly, who is currently residing at one of our fosterers homes, but is still available for adoption. 😺

Tilly is a sweet little lady who loves a good cuddle and will come straight over for a fuss, the second you sit down. She's not a fan of other cats or dogs, so would be best fitted to a home without either, but she's recently met a child, who she enjoyed a fuss from. We think particularly young children would likely upset her, but we would be happy for her to go home with children around 12 and up.

Despite her age, Tilly is still a playful girl and really enjoys her fishing rod toys. She'll actually come to ask for some playtime when she's feeling energetic! 🥳

Tilly does have stage 2 kidney disease, so she's on a special diet to keep her as healthy as possible for as long as possible, but we can tell you more about this on site.

If you are interested in Tilly, please fill out a homefinder form by clicking the 'Enquire about Tilly' button at the bottom of her profile linked below. We can look at arranging for Tilly to come back to the centre for the day if you would like to meet her

Our fantastic Flintshire volunteers had a great time at the Flint and Denbigh show last week. Thank you to everyone who came to say hello! We really enjoyed crafting with you, and loved how interested you were to learn about how we safely trap feral cats.

We also heard about lots of feral and farm cats that need to be neutered, so our volunteer team will be following up lots of enquiries over the coming weeks.

There's still plenty of opportunities to join our lovely team, so if you have a few hours to spare you really could make a lasting impact to cats in your area. Get in touch for a chat with Zoe on [email protected] or apply directly via cats.org.uk/volunteering.

We will be out again at the Cilcain Show on Monday 26th August, so if you don't have bank holiday plans yet then why not join us? 😸

It can be hard to tell if a cat is a stray or if they belong to someone nearby. If you’re unsure we recommend asking people in the neighborhood if they recognise the cat, checking for a collar and posting a photo with a brief description on community social media groups.

3 year old Lola is relatively new to the centre, having only been here for about 2 weeks.

The little lady is fit to home though and is now looking for a new forever home. She's previously lived with dogs, babies and children, and so could likely do so again. While she has no history with other cats, her general behaviour around everything else, means we would be happy to offer her a scent cloth to see how she reacts. 🐶🐱

Lola was a little shy for a few days when she first came into care, but she's since settled right in and now loves to come over for a fuss when there's one going.

Lola has also never been outdoors, so we would be happy for her to go to an indoor only home as long as she had plenty to do, but we would also be happy for her to be introduced to the outside world if the area was quite safe.

If you're interested in Lola, feel free to pop to the centre at any point during our open hours of 11:00-2:30, any day except Tuesday, and you can meet her.
Please bring along proof of your address or proof of your landlords permission to own a cat if you rent.
Please also bring a scent cloth of your other pets if you have any.

The gorgeous 9 year old Jasmin is still with us after 128 days, which is such a shock to us, given her beautiful little face and sweet personality.

Jasmin is a big fan of her fusses but likes a calmer approach as too much swooning can be a little off putting to her. She was prefer a home without very young children for this reason.

As you can see in her photos, Jasmin only has one ear as she had some cancerous cells in her other one. Her bad ear has been removed so she's officially cancer free! Being a white cat, sun damage can commonly be a cause of these things, so keeping our little lady in the shade and investing in some cat safe suncream for her remaining ear and the end of her nose, would help reduce the risks of her having to lose her other ear.

Jasmin does also have a grade 1 heart murmur, but these are very common in cats. We've linked some information on heart murmurs for you here:https://www.cats.org.uk/media/1040/vg11_heart_murmurs_and_heart_disease.pdf

If you're interested in Jasmin, feel free to pop to the centre at any point during our open hours of 11:00-2:30, any day except Tuesday.
Please bring along proof of your address if you own your home, or proof of your landlords permission to own a cat if you rent.

8 year old Tatty is far from her name (she's actually a very sleek and tidy girl).

Tatty is a big fan of human company and loves coming over for a fuss and to make herself very comfy on your lap.
She's a confident girl who would benefit from some outdoor access and she loves to spend time outside, but she is known to be a bit of a hunter, so if you're looking for some natural pest control, she's your girl. 🐀
Tatty would prefer a home with no other cats but we have no history of her with dogs, so we're open to offering a scent cloth if you have a calmer natured dog at home. We think she would also be fine with children old enough to know to give her some peace and quiet, and to let her come to them.

If you're interested in Tatty, please pop in to the centre at any point during our open hours of 11:00-2:30.
Please bring along some proof of address or your landlords permission to have a cat, and a scent cloth of your dog if you have one! 🐶

Our very unique looking Milly has been with us for 50 days now and is still on the lookout for a new home.
She's a 15 year old girl with stage 1 chronic kidney disease, so she's on a renal diet to keep her as healthy as possible for as long as possible. Being a renal cat, she also benefits from having a water fountain in her pen, so we would highly recommend getting one if you choose to adopt her. 🫗😺
Milly could likely live with children old enough to know to give her peace and quiet, but she would much rather enjoy the life of an only pet.
Milly is also quite content to either be an indoor girl, or have a little space to potter outside.

Milly's profile on our website: https://www.cats.org.uk/northwales -27775

If you're interested in Milly, pop in to the centre at any point during our open hours of 11:00-2:30, any day except Tuesday.

10 year old Maisie is a fresh face to the centre, having only been here for 5 days. She's had some incredible luck by being signed off as fit to home by our vets yesterday, so she's officially available!! 🙀🥳

Maisie came into our care as her owner passed away. For this reason, we don't know an awful lot about her past, but we do know that she's had some experience with small children, and wasn't a fan. She would be best suited to children old enough to know to give her space, so we're probably looking at around teenage.

We're not sure what she would be like with other cats and dogs but we think calmer natured pets would be something we consider with her.

If you're interested in Maisie, feel free to pop to the centre at any point during our open hours of 11:00 until 3:00, any day, except Tuesday.

Please note that to meet cats, we will need to see proof of your address if you own your home, or written proof of your landlords permission to own a cat if you rent your home.
It is advisable to bring along a scent cloth or any other cats and dogs that you have at home. This can be a blanket they like to sleep on, or a cloth that you have rubbed all over them before coming to us.

05/08/2024

If you are not in, you can’t win. There is just 1 week left to enter our summer raffle. 5 great prices up for grabs. Tickets are £1 each. All funds raised will help make a better life for cats, because life is better with cats.

Enter and see full T&C’s at www.areyoufelinelucky.cats.org.uk/wrexham/North-Wales-Cat-Centre-Summer-Raffle-2024.

Entries close on midnight on 19/8/24 and the draw will take place on the 27/8/24. Good Luck.

Tilly has been with us for 112 days so we've got our fingers crossed that her luck will change soon, and she'll get some interest. 🤞
Tilly is a real sweetheart and a firm favourite here at the centre. She loves making air biscuits with one paw and at times even does a little meerkat impression, standing on her back legs to reach up to your hand for pets. We really cannot believe her age (17 years) as she certainly does not act or look it. 😻
Tilly is often found cosied up nice and warm under her blankets, so we would love to find her a new warm and cosy home where she can live out her retirement in. She came to us after her previous owner sadly passed away and would like to find her a new companion.
She's is currently on a renal food diet, but please don’t let that put you off this sweet little lady.

While we would normally invite you to pop in whenever you're free to meet cats, Tilly is current residing at one of our fosterers (living the life of luxury), so if you're interested in Tilly, please fill out a homefinder form by clicking the 'Enquire about Tilly' button on her profile on the website (linked below), and we can look at booking an appointment where Tilly is able to come back to the centre for the day

Gorgeous 19 year old Jazzie yes you saw that right she is 19! She is on the lookout for her new retirement home, we would love to find Jazzie a home as quickly as possible as we would love her to spend her time in a loving home instead of being in care. She is such a lovely girl all the staff and volunteers have fallen in love with her. Jazzie is very gentle and sweet she enjoys having fusses from whoever she meets and likes to get attention, as well as having her usual naps throughout the day. Jazzie does have stage 1 kidney disease and this is just being treated through a speciality diet and is on no medication.

8 year old Zinnia came into our care as her owner was no longer able to care for her.

The little lady has had 4 previous litters of kittens, so she's certainly been through a lot in her 8 years but she's now been spayed so she can start doing what she wants to do with her time, instead of worrying about kittens. 🥳

Zinnia is still quite new to the centre so she's still adapting to cattery life, but we're already seeing signs that her nerves are easing off, so fingers crossed we'll be having lovely cuddles soon.
With her current nerves, we think Zinnia would be better suited to a home without particularly young children. We're also not sure what her opinions are of other cats and dogs so while we would consider them, we think calmer natured pets would be best.
Hopefully as her nerves ease off more, we'll see more of her funny personality (and get more funny photos of her 😻), and we'll be able to have a better idea of her thoughts on life with other animals around.

If you're interested in Zinnia, you can pop in to the centre at any point during our open hours of 11:00 until 3:00, any day except Tuesday. Please note that we're working on a first come first serve basis so Zinnia may not be available by the time you pop in.

*IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON DROP IN APPOINTMENTS*
Please bring along written proof of your landlords permission to have a cat.
Please bring proof of address, like a driving license or utility bill
Please bring scent cloths of any other pets you have at home
