A brand new wheelchair rugby team, which have been striving to get funds to be able to purchase rugby wheelchairs - the funds have been secured, so let the games commence! Whatever your disability, it makes no odds to us, this sport is about those who can fly around on one wheel and those who can hold/block/get in the way!

Mark Benevolent Fund Announces ยฃ1.7m Donation to Support Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby Clubs.

Millie Partridge has a limb deficiency and is part of the GBWR Performance Pathway Program. The best Talent in Great Britain is brought together every month and works towards being part of the next Paralympic Games in LA in 2028.

Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby is recruiting the next generation of wheelchair rugby stars for the LA28 Paralympic Games. We are looking for physically disabled people who are passionate and excited about sport, are motivated to be the best they can be, and want to explore their potential in wheelchair rugby.

Wheelchair rugby is a mixed gender sport and we welcome applications from everyone.

Who should apply?
* Aged 8 to 40 years
* Have a physical disability that causes impairment in a minimum of three limbs
* Aspire to compete at the Paralympic Games

Womens and Girls Open Wheelchair Rugby Sessions - Reading - 25th August

Venue: Arborfield Green Leisure Centre, Arborfield, Reading, RG2 9GB

Time: 11am to 4pm

Cost: ยฃ10 refundable deposit

Please note: Players need to have their own rugby chair, come dressed to take part in wheelchair rugby, bring some spare inner tubes, water and some lunch.

Date: 25/08/24

All the coaching sessions will run from 11am to 4pm and will be led by GBWRโ€™s Junior Programme Development Officer and Northampton Saints inclusion manager, Jamie Higgins. Jamie also works with GBWR Talent at the NTC sessions and is a very experienced wheelchair rugby coach.

These sessions are open to all GBWR female playing members over the age of 14 from both disciplines of wheelchair rugby (Paralympic Discipline and WR5s). Participants need to come dressed to take part in a wheelchair rugby training session, bring your own chair, some spare inner tubes, water, and some lunch.

This is a great opportunity to come and take part in an all-female session; to meet and train with other female players and share your experiences and help you develop as a player.

Worcester Womens and Girls Open Wheelchair Rugby Sessions!

For both disciplines of wheelchair rugby, the Paralympic Discipline and WR5s.

The first session is taking place on 21 July at Perdiswell Leisure Centre in Worcester.

All the coaching sessions will run from 11am to 4pm and will be led by GBWRโ€™s Junior Programme Development Officer and Northampton Saints inclusion manager, Jamie Higgins. Jamie also works with GBWR Talent at the NTC sessions and is a very experienced wheelchair rugby coach.
