It’s been a wild last week at PureGym Yeovil…😵💫
I’m saying my goodbyes after 2.5 years of ups, downs, challenges, and life changing transformations
Sometimes life moves F A S T 💨
And it’s moved fast over the past 10 days😅🤣
Excited for the next chapters, new challenge, new location, and next stage of life🚀
But before that, I want to take a minute to say a massive thank you
Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the ride, to everyone who invested in me, trusted me, made memories, took part, showed up, got curious, laughed at my jokes, and gave it a bloody go
It what everything I ever wanted from my time here to be, and that means the world ❤️

I may be shooting myself in the foot here but I want my NOT ANOTHER 8 WEEK SUMMER SHRED to be the last program you ever need to do…

Most of the people that I have already spoken to about the challenge have tried EVERYTHING
Slimming world
Weight watchers
Summer Shred programs
Going to the gym everyday
Fasting for days on end
Despite your best efforts, the weight always piles back on and all that progress you made in the gym comes undone
THEN there is this overwhelming sense of frustration of that it doesn’t work?!
No matter what you do or what you try
The negative self talk cycle starts…
You feel NEGATIVE about yourself, call yourself horrible names, pick apart your appearance
Your confidence takes ANOTHER big knock
You start to step back, hide away, cover up, the apprehension around social occasions rises again
And you’re in a worse position than when you started…
I know some of you will be reading this and think I’m on some personal attack mission with this 👀
So you can see why I don’t want you to keep going through this cycle?
My MAIN mission for the next 8 week is to:
⭐️Teach you practical tools and knowledge that you can use forever
⭐️Coach you to stand on your own two feet
⭐️Provide the structure and support to allow you more freedom and clarity
So you can break free from this cycle and get yourself on the path to feeling healthy, strong, and confident in yourself

📌Your confidence - not just in your body, but yourself, your ability, and your thoughts

📌Your mindset - calling out negative self-talk, stopping ‘All or Nothing’, developing self awareness
I won’t just be telling what to do with zero explanation - we’ll be understanding the WHAT and the WHY, so doing it become easy
This is for you IF:
✅You are willing to be curious and try new ways of doing things
✅You’re committed to developing personalised approaches that work for you and your life
✅You are ready to take accountability for your actions and take some open honesty from me
(I only say this because I care and want to see you win)
This is NOT for you IF:
❌You’re going to quit when the going gets tough
❌You are expecting somebody else to provide all of the answers for you
❌You’re not be willing to approach things differently to what you’ve done before

You’ll never guess how much we spent… 💰😱
Over the bank holiday weekend we sat down with a few friends and got chatting about money
(I know, WILD bank holidays 🤣)
We totted up the average we all spent on stuff we didn’t really need or wasn’t worth it in the long run…
I’m talking about coffees, takeaways, snacks from the shop, random bits we order off TikTok shop or Amazon
I’m not saying - don’t go out for a coffee or order a takeaway (far from it actually)
We EXCLUSIVELY highlighted we didn’t really want, need or particularly remember. It didn’t have any real value our lives after we’d finished said coffee/meal
We sat there and went through each of our bank accounts and totted it up, one by one…
The findings were actually quite scary
In April, the average we each spent was… £145.63
Yeah… I know!
It really puts it into perspective the mindless stuff we spend our hard-earned money on that has zero returns in the long run
What if we became more mindful?
And channelled into something positive for the future, to be an even better version of you
For yourself?
For those around you?
For your future?
Now…
I challenge you to do this for yourself
Go through the last month and add up all those mindless spends, on the stuff you are no better off from

After a meltdown a few weeks ago 🫠
A friend of mine reminded me of something I’d not considered for a while - my values
So I spent a few hours working out mine, seeing how they had changed and what was I not clear on
This isn’t an easy task, and bloody hell, I found it HARD
But it made me realise what I truly value, truly care about, what I don’t need motivation to do
I got thinking (something I do a lot of)
And everything became very clear - like the clouds parting in front of me
A learnt a lot, again, something that I value highly
One thing that came up a lot in the test is travelling ✈️
Seeing the world
Going to new places
Experiencing things, the mind blowing, the seemingly weird, the obscure
I never need motivaiton to look at flights
Or research new locations
Or get up at silly oclock to get to the airport/into the car
Or to put money back for my trips
The clarity and peace of mind it’s given me, and the ability to shape my goals around it

In the interest of balance, after my post about my wins last week
I wanted to share sometimes mistakes, failures and setbacks I’ve faced since the start of the year
It isn’t always sunshine and rainbows at Holty Towers… or with literally everyone in the world
💩Misplacing my passport and having to pay over £200 to source a new one… oh yeah… this was on the Tuesday of the week where we few on Sunday 😅
💩Spent way too long focusing on what I don’t want and what isn’t working in my life, which gets you a whole lot more of what you’re focusing on
💩Struggled in silence with a few new challenges I’ve not known how to deal with
💩Flare up of an old ankle injury which has left me struggling to walk on a handful of occasions
💩Receiving some rather unpleasant messages online
💩and it’s this only SOME of what’s happened
Take this as your daily reminder 💭
Social media is a highlight reel sure… but why would you post your worse day, all the stuff that’s not going right, the mistakes people make
It makes sense! And I don’t blame people for keeping it rosy! I’ve done so many of these posts over the years and I still feel really icky posting them
You can NEVER have a positive without a negative
You can NEVER have happiness without sadness
You can NEVER have wins without losses
As many of you will already know 💭
At the end of each Quarter I spend some time reviewing and course correcting
As we move into the 2nd 90 day chunk of 2024 (with some very exciting bits coming up), I wanted to share some of my biggest wins, magic moments and some cool things that have happened in my life since January 1st
🏆My knee (finally) getting better and causing me less pain
🏆Restructuring my weeks to make them more aligned with my goals and values
🏆Taking my Dad to F1 arcade in Birmingham for his Xmas present, he enjoyed it so much he paid for 3 more races later that day🤣
🏆Meeting Dexter for the first time 🌭
🏆Raising £300 for
🏆Watching some amazing Bath Rugby matches, particularly the ones against Racing 92 and Sale Sharks - oh and making friends with Ollie Lawrence and George Ford 🛁
🏆Receiving and giving some really heartfelt gifts with Bron
🏆Speaking to the student at my old college about opportunities the fitness industry has given me
🏆Implementing some new skills that I worked on a sales training day with my man Donie 👊🏼
🏆Cooking some AMAZING meals with Bron, especially ‘Marry Me Chicken’, a fakeaway Chinese, and honey glazed Ham
🏆Working on a new way of doing things with a mentor I’ve wanted to work with for AGES - and feeling the benefits of it
🏆Watching Example in Birmingham, and getting told by middle aged lady called Tracey I should consider a career in rap 🤣
🏆Podcasting with my mate , which the best one I’ve done to date! 🎙️
🏆Having an entire rooftop bar to ourselves overlooking Bucharest 🇷🇴
🏆Catching up with over a Nando’s, and having one of my favourite conversations of Q1 with him 🍗
🏆Swimming and chilling in the outdoor pool at Therme Spa in Bucharest 🇷🇴

For a while I’ve wanted to share my why behind taking on this challenge. I’m not going to lie to you, I’ve struggled with how I wanted to articulate it in the way I wanted to
Over the past few years, I’d found out that a few of the guys in my year have tragically taken their own lives
That’s over 1% of the guys in the year group…
It doesn’t sound like a lot, but its the sad reality of where things are at right now - finding out about these guy’s passing has truly shook me
I want to do something about it, this is the tip of the ice berg
When I committed to this challenge, I wanted to do it for them, to help raise funds for more for life changing services, help provoke meaningful conversations and connection, and spread the message of their excellent work 🙌🏼
There have been several times where I’ve struggled with suicidal thoughts, and another time one of those thoughts ended up going a little further
I am lucky enough to have come out the other side, and stand here to tell the story

I had the opportunity to go back into my old college to talk to the students about careers in the fitness industry and where that can lead you
The opportunities that arise, the different avenues it can take you down should you so wish, and the biggest takeaways I’ve had from 8 years in the fitness/leisure industry
Not just wearing shorts all year round and counting to 10 ✌🏼

Suggest you make them differently to reduce calories
Provide you with a recipe
Or make sure you add protein into yours

The one thing I do want you to do is make sure whatever you do is stick to your plan
If you want to enjoy your pancakes in peace, do just that
If you want to reduce the calories and add in some protein, great - do that
If it’s not for you, crack on with a normal Tuesday
The power and confidence you create from sticking to what you set out to do is seriously underrated
How often do we diverge away from what say to ourselves based off what someone says (usually people who we don’t know on the internet) is scary
Confidence comes from keeping promises, so keep your promise

A few months back, Lauren picked up an injury
Now… I’ve seen so many get injured and then avoid doing the thing - letting it haunt you forever 👻

She reached out to me, we spoke about it and put together a plan of action 🤝
Taking it easy, and implementing a ‘what can I do’ mindset 🧠📈
Then once she was better, she came straight back to it

A few weeks ago I spoke to my coach about how I was feeling frustrated with a few things in my life, how a few things weren’t progressing as would have liked
He mentioned one very simple thing…
All I was talking about/thinking about/focusing on was what I didn’t want, what wasn’t working…
Yeah… that simple…
(It’s a conversation I’ve just had with one of clients as well - so I thought you all might benefit from it too)
Is it any wonder when you focus on what’s not working or what you don’t want gets you more of just that?
I felt kind of embarrassed I didn’t notice myself 🫣
But this is the power of working with a coach 🤝
It’s the side of it that’s not spoken about enough
Having someone spot your blindsides (which we all have)
Challenging your thoughts and behaviours
Working with you to see the bigger picture
