When we first took over the shop, our aim was to serve the best quality coffee, cakes, and food while giving the place a fresh look. We also wanted to add different fusion elements to accommodate our diverse customers. We’re glad you enjoyed it! 🫶🏻

Also, as Amy mentioned, we hope that Lè Specialty will continue to be the cosy spot in town. ☕️🍵

Hi everyone!

This is a personal statement from me,

Cosy time founded 01/08/2015, I was 32, it was always a dream of mine to have a coffee shop, a cosy spot to enjoy my cuppa coffee, chit chat with my friends, a comfy seat to read a book….. it all had become true from that day!

After all these years, I have made so many friends in the shop, they were my staff, my regular customers, my suppliers, we had so much fun together, lots of drunken nights, parties, cried together, laughed together, we argued of course, but made up in the end! You have all become the best part of my life!

September 2023, I diagnosed with breast cancer, I wanted to hide at the beginning but when it came to the intensive & the very long periods of treatment, I couldn’t cope any more, I had to make the heart breaking decision to let the shop go. I need to put my family and my life first, and I need to reserve all the energy I can to fight for my life! I mean, everyone deals with hard situation’s but life is for living and enjoying!

From this, I have learnt a lesson, every second of my life is precious, and I need to spend it without regret!

Thank you very much, to my husband and kids and to all my family for fully supporting me through this tough journey. A huge thank you to all my staff past and present; you all worked so hard to make Cosy so cosy; thank you so much, my lovely neighbours on Fossgate and to all my suppliers! You all made my dreams come true!

After I have won this battle, I shall come back again! 💪

It’s not bye forever, just bye for now. I’m wishing all the best for Leon and Yong who are the new owners of the shop, I hope Cosy still be the cosy spot in York!

Hi all! We have some news…

It’s with a heavy heart to announce that after 9 years Cosy Time will be opening its door for the last time on Sunday 25th. This is something that I haven’t taken lightly but I have made the decision to put my health and my families needs first.

Cosy Time is and always will be a dream of mine. To have a cosy safe space where people can eat, drink coffee and have a natter/study in a friendly environment.

Thank you to all the lovely customers who have paid a visit to Cosy Time over the years we will miss and always appreciate your friendly faces.

A huge shout out to all the lovely staff who have worked for me over the years! You all know who you are, it has been a blast! I will cherish the memories forever💕
