We're opening auditions for one of our roles in Princess Ida, which we are taking to the international Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in August! This role is Scynthius, one of the three sons of Gama!

This role is open to any of our current members, even if you weren't in the original production.

It’s time for Miscast! Come along on Saturday to AEW/003 to watch a variety of musical theatre performances by our members embodying their miscast (however they choose to interpret that). Hope to see you there!

The Pinafore Pirates may be over this weekend but that doesn’t mean we’re done for the semester! We will be busking for the charity SASH outside St Martin Le Grand next Thursday. Keep an eye out for rehearsal details, but on the day we’ll be meeting there for 5:30pm until about 7, and singing a mixture of G&S classics and other music! We’d love to see you there.

Our summer show, The Pinafore Pirates is starting rehearsals this Thursday! Join us at 6:45pm in D/L/037 to be part of one of our choruses (of islanders, pirates, policemen, and fairies) - non auditioned speaking parts are also available.

A little summary of the Pinafore Pirates! The show tells the story of Daisy, the daughter of Buttercup and Captain Corcoran, and Christopher (her beau), who is taken hostage by a band of female pirates. Daisy joins forces with several well known G&S characters to fight the pirates and save her love. The music in the show also features several recognisable motifs from Sullivan’s work.

Rehearsals for The Pinafore Pirates start 11th April!

Prod team applications are open for The Pinafore Pirates! The application form and information about all the prod roles can be found at the link in our bio.
The prod roles available are: DSM, choreographer, props, hair and makeup, sound operator, lighting designer/operator, set design, costume design, and accompanist/repetiteur.

Dreamcast! This Saturday in AEW/003 at 7pm.

Our Dreamcast social is a chance for members to perform any song of their choice, with the theme of embodying their dreamcast. (However they would like to interpret this!)

Come vibe and join our audience! There will be a mix of songs from across genres, chosen and performed by our incredibly talented members.

Now that Princess Ida is over (😢), here’s what we’ve got going on until the Easter holidays!

This week will see a summer show workshop hosted by our Chair, as well as Legally Blonde RandomCast! These will both be taking place this Saturday (24th February), so keep your eye out for times and rooms!
Next week is all about pitches! Our pitching applications for summer show will close during week 3, so make sure to get them in.
Week 4 is the time for verbal pitches following the applications, but will also see a PowerPoint night hosted by our fabulous Social Secs!
Week 5 will be a big week for us as it’s AGM time! This is when we’ll elect next year’s committee and just generally have a bit of fun. Also in week 5 is the highly anticipated return of DreamCast!
Week 6 will see both the return of Mae Heydorn, professional opera singer, to give a workshop on Monday 18th March and our auditions for summer show. We will also be having a Karaoke night!

An appreciation post 💜
One group of folks we can not thank enough is our incredible orchestra! They put so much effort into making the show what it is, and are all incredible musicians. Can't imagine how hard it must be to learn am entire shows worth of music in so short a time, and they sounded amazing.

Thankyou! We love every single one of you, and quite literally could not have done the show without you.
