Thanks to Clémentine Beauvais for sending this our way!
"Harry Rée (our inspiration for the journal) features as an important character in Michael Morpurgo's upcoming children's book, In the Mouth of the Wolf (illustrated by Barroux) which is coming out with Egmont.
It tells the real life story of Morpurgo's uncle, who was a spy during the war and a mentee of Rée."

A huge thank you to all our peer reviewers, we will be sending pieces with suggested revisions out to those wishing to submit to this issue ASAP!
The Harry Rée Journal of Education is currently looking for submissions for our Summer 2018 issue! We are interested in academic and reflective pieces related to education, from any UG or Masters student at York (you do not have to be in the Education Department). We have extended our deadline up until the end of Spring Term - we would love to see any work you have! Full submission guidelines can be found on our website: https://thereesite.wordpress.com/ or you can email us at [email protected]. Happy writing :)
Anyone looking to work with the new committee- it's not too late! Drop us an email at [email protected] with a brief outline of why you'd like to get involved/ what you can offer to bring to the team. No previous experience is required & getting involved should take up less than an hour a week of your term time.
Thanks to those of you who came to last night's event. It was a resounding success. We really appreciate that you could come, especially in the middle of exam season.
We'd also like to thank Joy Martin for organising the event and contacting Prof. Ball. Without her support, the event could not have happened.
Also, the first issue of the Harry Rée Journal of Education is now available at our website.
We’d also like to let you know about an opportunity to be on the committee for the journal. The current committee members (Phil Penten, Joshua Stubbs, and Helaina Elardo) all graduate at the end of the year, so new students will have to take over as members of the committee.
This is an excellent opportunity for those of you who might be going into research or academia to have some experience in reviewing works, or maybe would like to develop a skill in another area, such as graphic design, web design, or leadership. It's also an excellent entry for your CV in general.
We’re looking for 3 members to run the journal, ideally from a number of different years. Anyone can apply to be a part of the team, as long as you’re studying in York next year. This includes current third years who are going into Masters or PGCE programmes within the Department.
To apply, please email [email protected] with the following:
