【鼻咽癌難以察覺？🤔】
Is nasopharyngeal cancer difficult to be recognized?
👃🏻鼻咽癌是香港最常見癌症之一，每年約有900位新症，👨🏻男性患者比女性多3倍，鼻咽癌不易被察覺，因症狀容易和其他疾病相似，甚至很多患者在癌症發展至後期前都沒有出現症狀。‼️
Nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) is one of the most common cancers in Hong Kong. There are about 900 new cases per year. The incidence rate for men is 3 times higher than women. It is often difficult to recognize nasopharyngeal cancer because the symptoms are similar to other diseases of nose. Also, many people with nasopharyngeal cancer don't have any symptoms until the cancer reaches an advanced stage.
⚠️鼻咽癌的症狀包括 Symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer can include：
耳鳴 Tinnitus
頸部腫塊 Lump in neck
流鼻血 Nosebleeds
聲音沙啞 Hoarseness
聽力下降 Hearing loss
重影 Double vision
新式血液篩查能有效地識別出早期鼻咽癌，靈敏度達97％，建議高風險人士定期接受篩查。出現症狀者亦應盡早求診。👨🏻⚕️
The new screening blood test can effectively detect early stage of nasopharyngeal cancer with 97% sensitivity. People at high risk are recommended to undertake screening test regularly. Individuals with the above symptoms should be investigated for nasopharyngeal cancer as well.

😲香港每4個人中便有1個患上 #鼻敏感。提起鼻敏感，大家都會想起流鼻水及打噴嚏🤧，但原來部分患者會同時出現 #眼敏感？！敏感似乎是小病小痛，如引起的徵狀影響到日常生活，就應該正視。
鼻敏感的典型徵狀包括 #流鼻水、 #打噴嚏、 #鼻痕、 #鼻塞，要處理鼻敏感可利用💊口服藥物、💨噴鼻劑舒緩，嚴重更應該透過 #敏感測試 找出致敏原，再考慮是否需要接受 #脫敏治療。若同時出現眼敏感問題，使用噴鼻劑亦可同時紓緩 #眼睛敏感 的徵狀。
如持續出現鼻/眼敏感的問題就應及早正視，若不妥善處理敏感徵狀的話，暇已時日有機會因過敏體質及致敏原，更有機會慢慢發展成為哮喘病。

To talk about nasal allergies, runny nose and sneezing are always come up from everyone’s mind, but it turns out that some patients have eye allergy at the same time. seems common, but if symptoms have affected daily life, patients should confront the problem.
Common symptoms of nasal allergies are runny nose, sneezing, nose itchiness and stuffy nose. To relieve symptoms, patients might use medicine and nasal spray. To tackle serious nasal allergies, allergen test is suggested and see if desensitization is needed for the case. If patient have both nasal and eye allergy, nasal spray can solve both problems.
If nasal and eye allergy continuously happen, patients should face up to the problem and get rid of the symptoms, otherwise it might cause greater chance of developing asthma.

持續耳鳴一個月原來是鼻咽癌？
耳鼻喉專科：新式篩查準確度高達97%
「隱形患者」抽血驗DNA速知結果
出現持續頭痛、鼻塞、流鼻血、耳鳴或頸部淋巴結腫大徵狀，以為只是普通感冒或鼻敏感，殊不知原來是患上鼻咽癌？耳鼻喉專科林傳廣醫生指，許多早期鼻咽癌患者病徵都不明顯，容易令病情拖延至晚期才確診；而傳統檢測方法只針對EB病毒，當中出現一定的假陽性和假陰性，有機會為病人帶來不安情緒，以及臨床診斷的不確定性。現時市面上的新式篩查彌補了此不足，其技術能針對具鼻咽癌特徵的DNA，準確識別出無徵狀的「隱形患者」, 而此測試的靈敏度高達97%，假陽性率更低至0.7%。林醫生建議高危一族自覺定期進行篩查，以及時了解自己的身體狀況。
真實個案：傳統血清學測試未測出鼻咽癌
50歲女士被誤以為中耳炎治療達一個月
在林醫生的過往病例中，曾有一位50歲女士因耳鳴向家庭醫生求診，經傳統「EB病毒血清抗體測試」(EBV Serology Test) 後結果呈陰性(此情況為「假陰性」，而正確結果應為陽性)，一度以為只是中耳炎，服用抗生素達一個月後病情仍然持續，故大感困惑；經轉介後，林醫生為其進行檢查，證實該女士患上鼻咽癌三期，幸好她能及時接受治療，康復進度良好，現在更過上三代同堂的美滿生活。
傳統檢測假陽性率較高
專科醫生：驗鼻咽癌不能只測EB病毒
林醫生表示，因EB病毒與鼻咽癌的關係密切，抽血驗EB病毒抗體，是傳統的鼻咽癌檢測手段；然而這種病毒感染很普遍，短暫感染也有機會帶來陽性結果，但並不一定代表患有鼻咽癌。因此，只針對EB病毒的測試並非驗鼻咽癌的可靠指標。目前傳統的「血清學測試」和「EB病毒DNA定量測試」沒有分辨出與鼻咽癌相關的獨有特徵的DNA，因此測試存在一定假陽性(詳見圖表)，有機會加重測試者的心理負擔。
新式早期鼻咽癌篩查
靈敏度達97% 假陽性率僅0.7%
隨著醫學不斷進步，新式篩查加入了次世代DNA測序技術，能更有針對性地檢驗血液中帶有鼻咽癌特徵的DNA，比傳統只檢驗EB病毒感染的測試具更高的準確性。換言之，若體內存在鼻咽癌，即使未見明顯病徵，新式篩查也能有效找出早期的鼻咽癌患者，當中靈敏度高達97%，假陽性率更低至0.7%，屬一大突破。
鼻咽癌篩查可從社區做起
家庭醫生能為高風險人士把關
新式篩查方法快速可靠，等候大約3至7個工作天就有結果。林醫生表示，一般市民感到不適大多會先找家庭醫生，這些診所同樣能提供新式早期鼻咽癌篩查服務。若篩查能從社區做起，就能先為可疑個案「把關」，一旦結果呈陽性，患者就可儘快接受鼻腔鏡檢查和組織活檢，即使確診也能及早獲得適切治療，增加治癒機會和節省一定的醫療開支。
由於鼻咽癌在東南亞和南中國地區如廣東、廣西和香港的發病率特別高，故鼻咽癌又有「廣東癌」之稱。林醫生建議，有吸煙習慣、鼻咽癌家族史、經常食用鹽醃食品如鹹魚，可考慮進行年度早期鼻咽癌篩查，以定期了解身體的最新狀況。
