上個月在西班牙舉行的 ESCMID 全球大會，來自美國的Curtis Donskey博士發表了一篇新的研究。
1）指出傳統清潔和消毒策略的一大局限: 消毒過的表面在兩次人工清潔之間很快就會再次受到污染，很可能不足以減輕傳染病病原體的負擔。
而紫外線技術是一種能夠有效清除表面和空氣中的病原體，並且自動化、安全、價格合理的技術，是最有前途的候選技術之一。

As early as 2018, Dr. David Brenner, head of the research team 🔬at Columbia University, pointed out that the far-ultraviolet wavelength of 222 nanometers, compared with the UV-C lamp used in the past, slightly shorter wavelengths, is harmless to humans, and cannot pe*****te the surface of the skin or eyes, but it can kill viruses. In addition, unlike vaccination, the far-ultraviolet light is effective against emerging strains of the virus and does not need to be changed from year to year.
To simulate airborne droplets carrying the virus, the team released the H1N1 influenza A virus into a simulated hospital corridor, where the virus was exposed to dim ultraviolet light. The results showed that far-ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 222 nanometers was as effective in destroying the virus as conventional broad-spectrum ultraviolet sterilization lamps.
The team hopes that this 222nm technology can eventually be used to stop the spread of viruses in airborne droplets in hospitals, schools, airports and other public places.
