Paint for Paws! Join our second fundraising event for animal adoption and rescue while creating a portrait of your animal friend!

Celebrating World Animal Day, we are happy to collaborate with a volunteer-run animal rescue charity Paws United Charity .hk to join force in raising awareness and donation for animal adoption in Hong Kong.

By participating in our 'Paint for Paws' event, 50% of the event fee (HK$170) will be directly donated to PUC, enabling them to continue their life-saving work.

Come to create a portrait of furry friend, we will be there to give guidance if needed! You can choose your canvas size 20*20 / 20*30 / 30*40 cm canvas.

Weaving Workshop for beginners 🧶

Learn about weaving while creating your own table mat!

Weaving produces textiles by interlacing two or more pieces of yarn, thread, or other material into a fabric or cloth. In this 2.5 hrs weaving workshop, you will weave a table mat approximately 11” x13”.

Instructor will introduce plain weave, and show how the simplest and basic weave form can bring many possibilities for making the most stable of fabrics such as table mats, scarves and more.

We will prepare different types of yarn, thread, upcycled materials for you to choose from. You can also feel free to bring your fabric for upcycling (requires pre-workshop, DM us for inquiries).

We will be using rigid haddle loom (Cricket 15” loom from Schacht Company (US)). Instructor will introduce the setup of the loom and guide you basic design, color choice’s, weaving steps and finishing techniques.

Instructor Lisa Wong - Lisa’s weaving skills came from Guilds in Ontario, Canada, and she has been a weaver and spinner since 2019 in Singapore. While having a corporate job weaving gives her a sense of calm, and using her hands to make crafts is an unspoken joy which she wants to share with people.

Why does paint glow in the dark? Because one type of paint is fluorescent paint, which achieves this effect by using specialized luminescent materials. Fluorescent paint contains compounds that absorb ultraviolet or blue light and then re-emit this energy as visible light, creating a glowing effect.

We are a group of students from the University of Birmingham and the University of Hong Kong. We are working as interns at GAC as part of the Common purpose programme which is a 28 day cultural immersion in Hong Kong which includes a placement with an organisational attachment.

During our time here, we will be working in various fields such as marketing, studio management, curriculum and program management. We are so grateful to be part of the GAC family and work with like minded individuals who also love art and want to promote it to reach the wider public.

Artful Healing - Chakra themed art creations with soundbath meditation

This 7-part chakra workshop series is designed to take you on a transformative journey through the seven main energy centers of the body. Each session will focus on a specific chakra, using crystal sound bowls, guided meditation, drawing exercises, and aromatherapy to activate and balance that chakra's vibrant energies. The Graphic Design 101 Short Course, which will run for a total of 4 weeks from 2 pm to 5 pm every Saturday, is designed for beginners to be equipped with Photoshop and Illustrator softwares. The course aims to teach the basic principles of design and guide participants in completing a branding project using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The classes are led by a professional Korean designer who currently works at a branding consultancy firm that has rebranded global companies such as Starbucks, Standard Chartered, and Amorepacific.

This short course is open to both working adults and teenagers. The skills learned in Photoshop and Illustrator can be applied in a wide range of personal and professional settings. Working adults can use these tools to create marketing materials, social media graphics, and product designs for their businesses. Teenagers can leverage these software skills to enhance their academic projects, personal creative pursuits, and even future career aspirations in design or marketing.

Tree is a powerful symbolic representation of the self in art therapy, evoking themes of growth, strength, and interconnectedness that mirror our own inner landscape.

We recently had a guided tree visualization workshop through coffee painting, which allows participants to imaginatively embody this archetypal symbol, connecting with aspects of themselves that may typically remain hidden or inaccessible in everyday consciousness.

By drawing the visualized tree using the earthy, organic medium of coffee, participants can connect to their senses, and physically manifest this symbolic self-exploration. The creative process becomes a tangible representation of their inner journey - a unique artistic expression to reflect upon and uplift their self-discovery.

Celebrate the full moon in May, with our Full Moon's Night that is designed to put the past behind us and align ourselves through sound bath meditation, tarot card reading, and meditative painting.

The Full Moon in May, also known as the Flower Moon, amplifies the energies of fertility, growth, and renewal. This celestial event provides an opportunity for us to fully embrace and utilize these qualities, thereby fostering personal growth and facilitating the manifestation of our goals.

We have different themes for each Full Moon's Night to set the intention of each moon cycle. The special add-on activity for this month is to create an affirmation card, based on the area that requires improvement.
