VOX will be redefined as a research agency focusing on urban research, radical idea and material design. Damian Chan is the mastermind behind the two corporations.

It is nice to have Grandland Tower properly photographed. We won the bid in 2016 and it took us 6 years to have it completed. This was our first Architecture project. Many people helped out along the way, to charm the clients, to dance with the authority. It is very fulfilling to have a tower built in Shenzhen, the mega city of China, with which bears our names as the chief architects. Though ours look a bit ordinary compared to many big names operating in China big stage. It doesn't have fancy curves, nor iconic crown. However, it works well with the context with calmness and confidence. Sometimes, it is nice to be ordinary.

Onto the final stage: shenzhen subway line 16 design. We call this Cloud 16. Inspired by the idea of light and silver lining, the reflective canopy reflect the colour of the sky and the crisp edge forms a silverlining. Entering the entrance gate like entering through the cloud. .

Yes we have been very busy building up our portfolio of buildings! Beijing here we come! We have been involved in every scope of the project from architecture space planning, interior design and as well as landscape concept! It will soon be our second realized architectural mix use project.

Our Story
Matter Design is a energetic practice with the core value of making people-centric, sustainable-aware and technologically advanced architecture and design. Our core team members are from renowned architectural practices, such as KPF, Benoy,Aedas etc, whose experiences are well established with mix-use development, office, hotel, high-end residential development and as well as urban design. Prior to setting up Matter Design, our leaders took on major roles in iconic projects like: China Zun Supertall in Beijing, Pingan IFC in Shenzhen, and Otemachi Headquarters in Japan. Currently, our office is working on various major architectural projects, such as Grandland Headquarters in Shenzhen and also the CBD design in Anning, Lanzhou.
Matter Design has offices in both Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
