The definition of "labour" includes not only blue-collar workers, but also white-collar workers and anyone who is in employment (including the self-employed). All of them deserve the same rights: decent minimum wages, humane working hours, and proper supporting facilities such as public transportation infrastructure and affordable housing, among others.
On this International Labour Day, let's celebrate every worker who continues to work to make a living. Those who continue to fight for a better working environment and livelihood conditions - who believe a better day will surely come.
Until that day comes. For each and every one of us.
In solidarity, always.

Thank you and see you there!
Earth and mankind have always been deeply intertwined. As David Orr said, "When we heal the earth, we heal ourselves." The opposite is also true: when we hurt the earth, we also hurt ourselves.
Floods, droughts, forest fires, loss of biodiversity, and the rising sea level harm and even displace (human) communities.
Environmental harm caused by humankind's overconsumption, at the same time, also perpetuates exploitative labour practices that preys on vulnerable communities.
The responsibility lies not only with individuals, but with humanity as a collective to work together to realise a more equitable and sustainable earth. But, it should NEVER stop with individual solutions. Individual responsibilities such as 3R actions (reduce, reuse, recycles), preferring public transportation over personal vehicles, and saving energy at home are great and strongly encouraged.
And yet, it is not enough. We must keep organising and demanding stakeholders to do a more institutionalised change.
A change that is also intersectional. Because the sufferings of the earth are also the sufferings of the marginalised communities living on this earth.
Remember: when we hurt the earth, we hurt ourselves. When we heal the earth, we heal ourselves.
In solidarity, always.
Eid Mubarak! In this blessed time, let us reflect on the ongoing struggles and resistance against injustices being waged on this earth. Let our thoughts be with those currently facing and enduring oppression of any kind. And may we continue to persist in our faith and efforts in building a more just and peaceful society for all. ๐๏ธ
Nurhuda Ramli, our partner from Sisters in Islam Malaysia, recently reflected on her stimulating experience attending one of the IAF seminars in Gummersbach, Germany. Additionally, she also participated in several discussions on the dynamics between liberalism and populism, as well as the political and communications strategy behind them.

Yati Kaprawi videos on Women's Rightโs are completed. 10 Videos talking about women issues in Malaysia. But why this videos matter?
๐ง The Why?
In Malaysia, gender, women's rights, and feminism discussions are on the rise. However, there's a widespread lack of understanding, especially among university students. Gender topics are not consistently integrated into curricula, and Islamic schools may avoid them, sometimes promoting views contrary to feminism and gender equality.
๐ซThe Challenges
Online materials related to Muslim Family Law often promote biased views favoring men, leading to an unequal distribution of housework and legal disparities where fathers may not bear responsibility for children born out of wedlock, placing the burden solely on mothers. This situation can contribute to social issues like 'baby-dumping,' especially among young women.
โจThe Primary Goal:
Created short, 1-2 minute animated videos addressing challenges faced by Malaysian Muslim women. These user-friendly animations are accessible to all, including those with limited access to information. They are presented in Malay to cater to the predominantly Malay Muslim population in Malaysia, with English captions for broader reach.
Women: Short Videos on Gender Equality, Women's Rights, and Feminism Perbincangan mengenai isu gender, hak wanita dan feminisme semakin popular di Malaysia. Namun begitu, ramai orang termasuk pelajar universiti mempunyai pemahaman yang samar-samar mengenai isu tersebut. Tidak semua kursus mengajar isu jantina sebagai sebahagian daripada kurikulum pengajian mereka dan...
๐ข Let's discuss the evolving landscape of gender issues, women's rights, and feminism in Malaysia. Despite the growing awareness, many, including university students, still lack a clear understanding. Gender-related topics aren't consistently integrated into curricula, and Islamic schools may even omit them or present contrasting views. It's high time to promote awareness and provide accurate information to empower individuals, including future community leaders. Yati Kaprawi's short animated videos are here to shed light on the challenges faced by Muslim women in Malaysia, aiming to reach everyone, even those with limited access to information. Together, we're striving for a fairer perspective and accessible knowledge for positive change. ๐
